wat are ur thoughts so far? are u enjoying it?
@chokky (As of ep 17) It's been pretty solid so far the only thing holding it back is Chitanda. Man I don't think a character has annoyed me this much before. She's a bland character (IMO) that gets in the MC's personal space every 5 seconds and basically forcing him to solve mysteries eventhough she isn't helpful at all and he ends up doing it himself. Like this ep the MC had to do all the solving while she did NOTHING besides getting distracted by the festival. Besides that every thing else is good like the animation despite being from 2012, MC and other two characters, plot's good despite being slower, etc . I'll probably write a full review along with my haikyuu one soon as these were both shows recommended.
thats quite interesting cos shes one of my fav characters lol. i like her personality from an anime standpoint but i can definitely see how i would get annoyed if it was a real person. she has no bad intentions so its fine overall. imo the mystery aspect and hint of romance was really good, and it is a beautiful anime for its time
@chokky (As of ep 17) I think the frequency she started asking rapidly increased while the purpose decreased irritates me. It started out as "Please help me find out what happened to my uncle!" to this episode where it was "Please I need to know if these two random art images I've never seen before match I need to know!" and she never helps despite being the "smartest". Her disregard of personal space annoys me, expecting him to help and won't take no, like he said he didnt want to + didn't have time solve the picture thing i just mentioned as he was solving HER OTHER MYSTERY and she starts saying "PLEASE ORUKII!" until its awkward and he almost has to which felt kinda manipulative. I know she doesnt mean bad but all the other characters have personalities + interesting inter-dynamics with eachother and shes just a sterotypical polite anime girl no personality you see so often besides this rlly annoying character trait that takes place once or twice an ep which is the only memorable thing about her.
her behaviour is quite manipulative, but apart from that she plays a key part in the development of oreki, where he starts off at the school with a 'grey' world and energy conservative lifestyle. her curiosity compels oreki to actually solve mysteries, helping him engage with others and live a more colorful life. im gonna be vague here since u havent finished it yet, but they are on opposing paths while also helping each other. her over the top behaviour is also a bit of a facade, at least thats how i interpreted it.
i looked up stuff cos its been a while since ive watched. hopefully u enjoy it a bit more by the end, if not thats also fine
@chokky (As of ep 17) yeah i kinda felt it was a facade but when I've been stuck with it for 18+ eps its kinda like the whole show + while I think she does develop oreki, it feels from her own self-centered reasons of curiosity in comparison to her activelyt trying to change him as a reason. I also agree shes very manipluative, so it doesn't make me like her at all tbh so far.
