Possibility for muting following activities
I wanted to follow users without getting bombarded with their activities in my "following" activity feed, i usually only follow close friends but they're only occasionally on so i wouldn't be able to see their activities if i were to follow many active users. Essentially, to solve this problem, I was wondering if there was a possibility to add in a "mute" activities feature? Would be very convenient!
Not to be rude but what's the point in following people if you don't want to see their activities? It kinda goes against the point in following them in the first place.
Maybe you want to have them in your social tab but not your activity feed.

I've experienced this happen to me after I recently started following a few users. I'm not following you because I want to give you something, I'm following you because I'm interested in your posts moving forward. Don't feel bad man - and certainly don't feel obliged to clog your own feed with my future posts just because I want to have yours on mine.
TBH I was thinking of the same thing. I like some people overall taste and but making activity for every single chapter read or every single episode watched is too much. I would like this to have so I can keep them in my social feed to check their profile when I want but not get bombarded with activities every second.
