Haikyuu's Animation Change

There's a change? :o

I think the old art style worked just fine and there was no reason to change it. Why bother? The fact the manga's art changed too isn't a good enough argument; anime aren't obliged to copy their sources to a fault.

That said, I'll get used to the change eventually (what else is there to do?). I'm more afraid of other potential adjustments - there's just something utterly charming about the old HQ's atmosphere which I'm not sure will be preserved. Hence why I haven't started the new season yet; I didn't particularly enjoy the new OVA and don't quite know what to expect.^^

Anyone who whines about the art style change is wrong if it's not lowered in quality. It's still pretty, just different. I have no complaints at all when it's about the art style, even tough I'm still not used to it completely.

Sadly I do have a related complaint. I've noticed animation quality has gone down significantly. Haikyuu season 1-3 has such stellar animation for even the smallest of things, and it's just all gone now. Even the last episode, which is supposed had a cool moment (the fast attack) has lost all it's quality that the previous seasons seems to have. Even out of a match, the animation has gone down. Previous seasons used to have great animation for things like standing up, walking, and other mundane stuff.

Right now season 4 misses a lot of impacts and nuances that I really hope return. I hope the animation team goes all out in the national matches, but that would be something rare for an anime to do. So I'm kind of disappointed.

I have no problem with the art style.

But there is a huge drop in the overall animation.I just binged watched the show and for me finishing the third season and in the next day starting the fourth was hard. Since everything was so fresh, the drop in quality is easily noticeable.
There are lots of poorly animated scenes, characters from afar being lazily drawn. The first 3 seasons had depth, this one feels flat.

Animation's cancer. Made me drop the series and read the manga instead, it's that bad.

I think in general the changements made of the character design was a good thing. First because it is now closer to the manga style (e.g: the shoulders of Bokuto). Also in general the characters look good. BUT there are some like Suga, I'm sorry but I don't like his new design :')

And all of that didn't made any change about the sorry, how the characters behave etc. So this is really character design for character design.

Moreover, the animation (during actions etc.) is sooooo good. I feel like now we live even more their events. I mean just by looking at Kageyama flip hair, you know there is a good animation x')

So for the next season I would be pleased to find again this new design~
