Not only animes' OPs and EDs, it can be games OST, bands and so on...
Today I heard The Beatles' "A Hard Day's Night" and "Beatles for Sale". I also enjoy bands like King Crimson (the band, not the character), Queen, Yes, and I adore Super Mario Galaxy OST.
So, what's your favourite music?
I'm pretty open to listening to anything, but my top 5 albums are the following
For anime OSTs I love the Kill la Kill soundtrack, Gomen Ne Iiko Ja Irarenai is my favourite. Kimi no Na wa also had some great pieces though I haven't taken the time to listen to them outside of watching the movie. The OP and ED themes for KonoSuba are very fun.
In terms of games, anything by Jun Senoue and Crush 40 are instant favourites almost all of the time. The Sonic Adventure 2 soundtrack is one I constantly return to time and time again, as well as the NASCAR Arcade soundtrack. I love the Ace Attorney original trilogy OST, and the Yakuza 0/Kiwami 2 OST - particularly the karaoke tracks - are particular favourites. Other favourites would include Sonic 3 & Knuckles, Portal 2, Little Inferno, Fallout: New Vegas, To the Moon, and NieR:Automata. Though not exactly under the category of "video game OSTs", I really enjoy rips from SiIvaGunner mixed in with these.
My primary genre is definitely 80s/90s Rock, but it isn't the only genre I like. Older "big band" music, orchestral, and acoustic piano music are very enjoyable. I would say the only genres I don't like are Dubstep, Rap and to some extent Eurobeat.
-Anime songs
-Jpop/Kpop
-A few vocaloid songs
-A few Bollywood songs
-Kdrama Osts
-English songs in nightcore (mostly romance ones)
-Beautiful instrumentals
-For some reason i also have 1 French, 1 German and 3 Chinese songs downloaded on my phone that i really like.
-Epic or beautiful instrumentals
Yeeeah...don't ask me this question XD. I listen to ANYTHING as long as i like the tune itself. video and language are irrelevent to me XD
I'd consider myself still getting into certain genres, but I've found myself listening to a lot of psychedelic stuff (psych rock, psych pop, neo-psych stuff). I've also been getting into the more essential rock genres (progressive, krautrock, garage). Most of the artists I've been into are modern artists, but I've been going through some classic artists as well.
Because of this, I've mostly avoided mainstream music because of how simple and repetitive it can be. I find layered and complex tracks a joy to listen to. For something Japan related, I consider myself quite oblivious, as I only listen to AKFG and The Pillows. I've gotten interested in city pop though, especially Tatsuro Yamashita, because of how pristine it sounds.
Anyways, top five artists would be:
I've always listened to electronic music growing up so that's kinda stuck with me but I also like other genres as detailed below:
Melodic Dubstep: MiTiS, Crywolf, JVNA, The Eden Project, Laura Brehm, Skrux, Au5, Seven Lions, Echos, Singularity
Chillstep: Isolated, CMA, Sappheiros
Liquid drum & bass: Feint
I quite like lofi hip hop, also a big fan of Nujabes!
I guess for anime openings and endings, for some reason I really love rock. Check out TRIBAL CHAIR, they are one of my favourites and did the ending for One Outs.
If you listen to any of the producers/music mentioned above reply please! It's very rare I find someone who listens to similar stuff to me! :)
I'm not one to be bothered with the minutiae of genre, I listen to what I happen to enjoy—
I (like to) think I've got a decently varied palate—going off my data, the artists/groups that top my all-time stats are Radiohead, the Beatles, サカナクション, Hisato Higuchi, Gorillaz, Mac DeMarco, Spangle call Lilli line, Björk, the Strokes, Cornelius, toe, Blonde Redhead, Daft Punk, Belle and Sebastian & Rei Harakami.
Honestly I geniunely listen to quite a lot of everything, from underground brazillian screamo to japanese reggae rock, to whatever the fuck IDM means; From Thursday to Ariana Grande to George Frederic Handel.
But that's never really that helpful in telling you what I like the most, so I guess my favourite couple of albums at the moment are mostly anime OSTs (Cop Craft, Made in Abyss, Ghost in the Shell to name a few) with a lot of 80-90's Japanese city pop (Megumi Hayashibara, Chage & Aska, Yoko Takahashi etc).
And to top it all off, according to last.fm my most played track (Air, by Kevin Penkin) is literally like a solid 2-3 minutes of ambient wind noises with some kind of xylophone ringing in the foreground.
Metalhead, I listen to Rock oftenly. Throw some LoFi in, here and there. I have a weird balance.
Metal (Sub)Genres I listen to are: Metalcore, Deathcore, Thrash/Speed Metal and Post-Black Metal
Favorite Bands: Bleed From Within, Concealed Reality and I Prevail
Rock: I oftenly listen to Punk Rock, or J-Rock, take any band. My favorite is "Kami-Sama, I have noticed"
Other than that, I heavily dislike Rap, but love The Weeknd.
I said that I listened to LoFi, but I don't do so oftenly, don't know any artists either. I just put on a playlist and go to work. That's it.
Some stuff I can think off the top of my head; obviously not limited to:
Russian Indie
Shoegaze / Dreampop
Super Eurobeat / Dark Eurobeat
Architects
All works made by Asian Kung-Fu Generation, but my personal favourite would be an album called Connected to You 5M(other name is Return To The Basics vol.1).
Easy almost every single piece of music of the Ace Combat Franchise. But if i were too choose one it would be this one, the nostalgia factor for me is just to big
but if i were too choose the best ones it would be:
Zero from Ace Combat Zero
