What's the best music or playlist to read manga? Please provide links

Personnaly I usually listen lo-fi, classic music or ost (AOT, Radwimp, Haikyuu, LOTR, Harry Potter, ...)

  I personally don't like lo-fi that much, maybe when i turned on the livestream at the wrong time.
  What do you mean by classic music? Music from lik 1800-1900 maybe?
  Also i used to listen to the OST but that makes me watch the show so if possible i won't listen to that.

  when i say classic music it's will be the music from Mozart, Beethoven, etc ... I have a spotify account so there is a lot of this kind of music group in differents playlists. I start with the music use "your lie in april" which i like then I discover other things thanks to it

Honestly depends on the manga, if we’re talking action (and all of genres in that field) I usually go for classic or psychedelic rock with occasionaly some emo rap.

EG

but if it’s any other genre (romance, comedy, seinen, etc) I go for more lofi, calm sad music

  What music do you like to listen to while reading manga? I sometimes like to listen to sort of quiet, instrumental music while reading something seriousness, and heavy metal with those intense fighting or cultivation stuff.

It depends.If I read Jojo then I have my playlist of songs that were referenced in it.On any other manga is one of two.1:Nothing 2:I just listen to some steady rain video.

  NICE yeah it totally feels like the perfect manga for music. I mean low key though, I sorta just listen to music with everything. Even metal with txtbooks.

depends on what im reading
if its something like JoJo that already references a ton of songs, then i'll just listen to a playlist of those songs, but most other times i just listen to the anime's ost (ost of a similar anime if the manga doesnt have an adaptation) and play specific songs when i get to specific points (i.e. playing Shinsou no reijou at the end of Bakemonogatari 001)

I usually listen to lofi hip hop or chillhop. I need something that's going to keep me distracted mentally but not enough to take away from the thing I'm reading, and lofi and chillhop are perfect for that.

  I find metal calming for certain circumstance, but normally, I want to bang my head and act crazy if I'm listening to it. There's only certain bands or people that relax me enough to concentrate.

if i am reading something in which the anime has a good soundtrack i play that while i am reading and jojo i play my rock/metal playlist which has a lot of the jojo reference songs

When I finish something with impactful themes, inspiring, or romantic I have to go with the Nils Frahm piano album. Surreal, emotive, moving. Perfection.

mostly ambient stuff that won't distract me too much

this is the most neutral album I found that doesn't really change the mood of the manga for me

I have my playlist of all my favorite ops/eds so I listen to that. Sometimes I just listen to the osts/ops/eds of the anime adaptation while I'm binging that manga.

Depends on my mood. Like other replies have said, if there's music referenced in the manga, I'll listen to that. WonDance is my best example for that, I've been compiling a Spotify playlist for it as I read it because the story makes reference to the beat and other musical elements (and namedrops the song + artist in a little box to help with that).

Other times, I'll just want some mood music or leave something playing while reading. Surprisingly, the final chapter of Time Paradox Ghostwriter worked quite well with the song Under the Waves (by Pendulum).

I tend to gravitate to manga with dark themes (horror, psychological, science fiction etc.) lately and I love to listen to my favorite Japanese band BUCK-TICK when I do. I adore them and their range.

They're not particularly popular in the states and they were more popular in Japan in their prime in the 80s and 90s, but they're still making music today in their 50s and 60s! These are some of the songs I have on my playlist...
