Truth be told I didn't really like the Hunter Exam all that much.

  I thought hunter exam was cool and certainly different from other shounens

  Imo Hunter Exam is perhaps the lowest point of HxH. Perhaps, one of the worst opening arcs in a shounen
  It honestly sucks. It's wayy too dragged out and throws people off a lot
  Luckily the following arcs pick up and takes it to a top tier anime

  I, for one, didn't like it.
  But I respect your opinion. Different people, different tastes.
  I didn't like it because it was too slow. Those 18 odd episodes could be reduced to a less than a course imo. Plus, I was extremely irritated with Gon's (he's a good character, but I don't like him) personality and him sitting on a tree for around 1-2 episodes ticked me off.

  I liked the '99 Hunter Exams because they really took their time, 2011 doesn't spend ENOUGH time on it IMO

  i personally binged the whole hunter exam in 2 days when i found this show so it was pretty entertaining for me.

  Exactly. I wasnt originally meant to rewTch HXH . Its been 5 years since i watched it but i dont remember enjoying it a tonne the first time i watchedm but my friend got into it for the first time last wekk and so i just watched the first ep for no apparent reason ... not intending to continue. But then the whol exam had me hooked and before i knew it, id finished the arc in a day.
