What does a 10/10 mean to you?

I'd base a perfect score around how much criticism I have. The more things I'm dissatisfied with, the farther away it is from a 10.

A 10/10 is something that has affected me on a personal level, and it would be something that I will likely remember for the rest of my life. While many shows are amazing and entertaining, a 10/10 is basically an experience "imprinted" in my brain and is therefore dedicated only for the special ones.

my criteria would be good writing and story building, and the most important thing is how lovable the characters are.

For me I found a anime that was a standard for a 10 out of 10, then adjusting my scores centered around that. I think that being Trigun, that being said it is a classic and at that point I had not watched many anime. More recently I added ID: INVADED as a 10 out of 10, which finished airing this year. Like you said the anime that I give a 10 out of 10 I could rewatch countless times and not get bored of it. Something that is outstanding, that has a different feeling than other anime, a anime that makes you feel happy whenever you watch it. That is when I feel it is appropriate to give an anime a 10 out of 10.

Character Development, Plot, Animation and sound track have to be solid for me to give it a 10/10. Also if i could rewatch it and enjoy it just as much as the first time.. I'll admit im picky ¯(ツ)/¯

For me 10/10 simply means its my absolute favorite, I try not to think too much while giving score. Its totally a subjective matter.

I don't rate anything, I just have shows I liked and shows I disliked, nothing in between.

A 5/5 is something that is well beyond the standards of most anime, and the closest thing to perfect that is achievable. That's why I only have 3 of them

10/10 mathematically is perfect.
And I would see an anime I rate 10/10 the same way.

I can be simple-minded like that but I don't give it away like freebies.

I rate out of enjoyment. A 10/10 for me is a series I watched and didn't have any complaints that weren't nitpicks. A series where I got completely immersed, attached to the characters and couldn't wait to see what happens next. It could be an action series with a plot I loved (Fate/Zero) or a comedy with writing that constantly made me laugh with character interactions (KonoSuba). It could also be a series that gripped me emotionally (Kimi no Na wa).

Outside of these factors, other thing that can influence a 10/10 for me are the music (ambient, OP/ED), animation quality and how well the series set out to do what it aimed to do. Of course, these factors only apply to anime and not manga.

Specifically speaking on manga, I rate pretty much only on what I wrote at the top. How well it can make me feel like I'm in the world rather than looking at panels on a page is the biggest factor I can think of that wasn't mentioned above.

So basically, a 10/10 is a series that I couldn't put down and that I feel was incredibly enjoyable.

Since I don't particularly believe that perfection exists, it's something that is very close to it. Everything about these anime is great, and there are no flaws glaring enough to detract from it.

I liked the concept and it was executed properly. It's also usually a pretty emotional experience.

Boring answer but for me it just meant "liked it more than those that got 9/10"

Pretty much anything that took notable risks and would have been more than a 5 otherwise. I ascribe to the "nothing is perfect" notion so I figured this would be a better use of 10s since I wouldn't use them at all otherwise.

I only have 1 10/10 on my list and it is whatever I think the best anime I have watched as of date is. I also only have 1 of each 9.9-9.1 for the others of the top 10 and then anything that receives a 9 is near perfect but didn't make top 10

for me, it just has to hit different and completely stand out when i look back at it.

for me it can be either entertainment-wise or storytelling-wise

10/10 is a combination of a few things, if it was a show I really loved, it objectively speaking was a good show, and everything it set out to do, it did well, with little to no criticisms.

My 10/10 is just my peak enjoyment

How it impacted my life or when it have a good story, art, opening, ending, and other things.

A 10/10 is either an anime that made me want to do something in real life, or will be memorable for the rest of my life. Yuru Camp is a 10/10 for the first condition, Higurashi for the second.

A 10/10 to me will always be viewed as perfect or a masterpiece. I don't think I'll rate an anime, manga, light novel, or anything like that in general a 10/10 because I don't believe a perfect piece of media exist.

I personally use the 5 star system since its more vague if that makes any sense.
something can be 5 stars while not being a total 10/10. I've positioned it as a ranking for shows/movies that i loved or strongly recommend to others.

Example for me would be while Ascendence of a Bookworm , Re:Zero, or Little Witch Academia wouldn't be 10/10, I loved them alot and felt like they deserved the 5 star rating.
