[Spoilers] Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- Season 2 - Episode 4 Discussion

Man, I was about to cry this episode. I wish more parents thought the way Subaru's parents do. They have a kid to make the kid's life better, they don't have the kid just so the kid can give back to them.

I also have my mother's eyes. I miss my dad :(

On a more positive note. Telling someone that you've even seen their butt hole has to be the best anime moment I've seen in a long time.

I cried so fucking much man, I can relate to Subaru on every level.
He was already one of my favorite characters before and he somehow got better. Holy shit.

THERE SHE IS

Such a great episode. It explains a lot of Subaru's character throughout the past season, and it was heart wrenching knowing he wasn't able to give back to his parents despite wanting to so much.

Also, I'm certain that was an Asterisk War poster (plus other anime I don't recognise) in the background of his room. I love those subtle details!

This was a great episode, it was sad but not enough for me to shed a tear

This is arguably my favourite episode of Re Zero so far. The adaptation of the LN to anime is fantastic and made me tear up again.

Also Subaru has managed to survive 3 episodes now!!

This episode made Subaru characterization during season 1 just untouchable. The story can be better or worse, but haters can't just say that Subaru personality is annoying anymore. He has his reasons, very good reasons actually, to be like that.

This is one of the best episodes in anime that I've watched recently. This episode made me give the second season a ten, it's good to learn more about Subaru's past and see how much he's developed so far and will continue to.

I still think this season is a little bit average at least per now (It's not because Rem took a L), however, I almost cried in this episode

finally all these Sabaru haters can chill, I hated not being able to say anything about sabaru as a character since it was spoilers for the future for along time

No opening but at least we have the ending this episode ??‍♂️

I was so hyped for this episode after the last cliffhanger and it exceeded my expectations, insane episode

watching thru Akame ga Kill and then this episode was too much feels to handle for the day

One word is enough to describe this episode: BEAUTIFUL

Such a good episode, it's not common for isekai series to dwelve into what happened before the isekaiing, but I am glad re:zero does as it is a character driven story, and it helps to develop our MC even more

This was bright and heavy - a horrible combination for my emotional personality.

That was feels until the Witch of Greed at the end.

As someone who read the light novel, this episode did exactly what what the light novel did. It showcased how much Subaru struggles, why he does the things he does, why he feels like this. It was a really good episode that made me cry, just like the light novel.

(side note, I was scared with how this episode was gonna be, but with the way it came out, Subaru has now become on of my favorite characters.)

What the fuck? This was an amazing episode. I nearly cried. Subaru's parents are so cool, I wish I had a father like his. What was really cool to see was that in this episode, his character development became apparent to everyone was watching due to the flashback showing how he has changed just from being sent to this world. I'm shocked.

The episode was amazing, it contextualizes so many reasons for Subaru's decision making in the past which people have criticized, just thinking back on them made me realize how much depth re:zero has, that can be easily overlooked. God damn, this one will stick with me for a while.

How long since I cringed so hard?

This episode hit me like a truck. Now we can proudly say that Subaru is a good character.

ay ngl most of the episode was okay for me but that ending with the iterashai was all i needed to make it worth it.

This episode was really good, I appreciated it.

We could see more about the relationship between Subaru and his parents but especially how Subaru's parents were and they are really cool, also the end of the episode is surprising, we see that Echidna knows the fact that Subaru comes from another world and she doesn't seem at all surprised.
