Even if I dislike him...
Why do you dislike him tho? ):
A big part of it is the over hype there is around him. There are Pikachu everywhere and I find it really annoying (the fact that people are like "What? How can you dislike Pikachu? Everybody loves Pikachu" is part of it).
I think if you remove that I just don't really care about him (and an over hype about something I don't care tend to make me dislike this thing more)
I find it weird to say there's "hype" around Pikachu. It's like saying there's "hype" around Hello Kitty.
It's not hype, it's jsut the fact that it's very marketeable, it's a cute design that sells well, specially among children and Nintendo is, of course, going to take advantage of that.
It's not made for us to go "Oh, what a nice character" it's made for 5 year olds to go "Mom, buy me 30 and the hat!"
If you don't think Pikachu is cute, then of course you won't care about him, because that's the extension of what Pikachu is.
