  If you're talking about in the anime, I don't really think anybody cares about him that much.
  SnK Manga Spoilers:He's definitely controversial in the manga though. I never really cared either way but I always thought it was funny how much artificial depth people added to his character even when it wasn't there—some people made him out to be a true devil (island devil heh). He was a nationalist but I don't really feel like there was a whole lot more to it than that. I doubt he was Eren's best buddy either, and I doubt he was because I don't really see Isayama going back and giving us a Eren x Floch flashback sequence with only a few chapters remaining. I swear some people wanted him to be a new main character like Gabi but idt Isayama ever intended for him to be much more than a side character that advanced the plot

idk about his popularity in general but everyone I talked to thought he was annoying.
I was actually getting a little bored around the exam part and he made it fun again, I think his crying is hilarious. lol.

Hanabi Yasuraoka, Kuzu no Honkai gets way too much hate, it's a masterpiece.

  Seen many hate comments on the site where I used to watch this anime. People be like : she useless , only drags Bell down , but in reality Gods are not allowed to do shit in that anime... like they mentioned countless times

Getting so much unjustified slander because they are the most complex characters of the series which causes tons of misunderstandings and misinterpretations, often stupid ones.

Ueno
She was one of the more realistic and complex characters of the movie. Her motivations were actually very compelling and (I'm SO not proud to say this) I could really find myself relating to some of her moments. She seemed like an actual person and I could just see how much she tried. Although she failed miserably in being nice I see her more as a person than Shouko. Shouko was incredibly flat and uninteresting. She was more of a caricature than an actual human being. However, Ueno is flawed and that's what makes her so human. Shouko is too perfect so I struggle seeing her as more than the "poor nice deaf girl," but I can actually find myself wanting to find out more about Ueno as a human. Her intentions have a mix of "good" and "bad". I think that gives her a really compelling role in the story. People only focused on how she was horrible to Shouko so she tends to get a lot of hate. I do agree that she's morally improvable but there's more to her than just being bad to Shouko.

  Yea, i'd say Ueno is a better character than Shouko from time to time.
