Do you people believe in Zodiac Signs? Why?

I don't believe there exists a relationship between the date/time you're born and your personality. However I do believe them in the sense that ppl who identify themselves with their sign usually do that for a reson.

PS: I'm a scorpio. My favorite signs are: scorpio and virgo (although in my experience I've had trouble being in a relationship with a virgo)

What do you think? Also, feel free to compare signs with that 'INFP or something' stuff (I don't know what it is the name for that, but I guess it's something that describes your personality somehow). Feel free to talk about personal experiences too.

There are people who match well with the description of their sign but there's no solid evidence behind it so I take it with a grain of salt. It's fun to see memes to do with your sign and such but I don't rely on it for figuring a person out. It's kind of just a really huge coincidence.

The difference between zodiacs and mbti (the infp thing you're talking about) is that zodiacs are decided from your birthplace and time while mbti is decided off your actual personality traits so it's less arbitrary than zodiacs which makes it more credible.

  I do believe in it being just a big coincidence. Even more because ppl who usually 'believe' in their signs are either biased (change their behavior due to their signs without realizing) or do that because it already matches (usually neglecting the things that don't and focusing only on things that do) their personality

My birthday is between two different zodiacs Aquarius and Pisces, so idgaf about them. Do think it is a good way for people who are interested in them to connect tho

I do think that the time of the year you were born plays a small part on your personality, but the zodiacal sign shouldn't define you completly.
I am a Cancer and there're those big cancer traits that I have and most cancer people I know have (like being socially ankward) , but that's where my belief ends.
I don't trust at all the daily horoscope that tells abstract things like : You gotta get money today!! , because the odds of someone of that sign actually getting money are quite high compared of how many people are under any zodiacal sign.

Also talking personality wise i'm an INFP which is really fitting for my sign, to be honest!

  Yeah, I feel somewhat the same about horoscope and that stuff. I don't believe it not even a little bit. But I was talking more about that 'personality defining thing'. I too have a bunch of scorpio (my sign) traits, but I'm just not sure it's not just a coincidence.

  Like I said , I DO belive that there's a bit more to it than just a coincidence, because I know more people born under Cancer with similar traits as me . But just don't let your sign tell you how to act lol. If you will care too much about your sign and how zodiac tell you you should be because you're Scorpio, you'll end doing those things...

im a total slut for spirituality. i dont super believe in religion but i think religion is a sense of safety for people, because they lack understanding of the world around them. i think of astrology as similar to this. also i am a virgo and most traits resonate with me heavily

  hello there. I agree with you about both religion and astrology being some kind of 'faith' (in the sense of believing without proof). Have you done those 'astrology chart' type of stuff, or do you know only your sun sign?

  I have never read a zodiac description or chart (I've had full charts drawn up and explained to me a few times) that was any better than "yeah that's me sometimes" "uhhhh doesn't that describe everyone?" Most of the time everything is completely wrong. No "astrology guru" has ever managed to guess any of my signs by interacting with me. Meanwhile I can guess people's MBTI and enneagram types most of the time because those are a condensed expression of a person's self-concept and worldview, which determines how they act. (That's all they are. A label that quickly tells people how you see yourself and what you value.)

  I'm unfamiliar with the western ones so I can't comment on it. The Chinese zodiacs are based on the year of the Chinese calendar you're born on and there are 12 of them. In order they're:
  Rat
  Ox
  Tiger
  Rabbit
  Dragon
  Snake
  Horse
  Goat
  Monkey
  Rooster
  Dog
  Pig

Dude it goes way further than just your primary sign everyone goes by which is actually just your Sun sign. You have a sign for your Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars etc. kjdndnkj you have a whole universe in you! It's crazy but mad fun to get into. Plus if you're into simulation theory, astrology makes for an intriguing counterpart.

I don't agree with saying I "believe" in it because it's not something I rely on. For me, astrology is grouped with the likes of mythology and philosophy. Concepts with ancient history, extensive background information and cultural influences that I find incredibly fascinating to study because of the different interpretations and neverending things to apply it to. It's just good ol' nerd fun for me.

  The simulation theory is fascinating btw, if we ever manage to build computers capable of simulating our brains, then we're definitely living in a simulation no doubt about it

  i agree! i don't "believe" in it, in a way (ie. i won't actively avoid people who are mercury taurus or sun virgo or whatever, in fact my sign is scorpio and supposedly i'm not supposed to get along with gemini and sagittarius but i have really good friends with those signs). but i think it's just super fun and i like keeping up with it. confirmation bias happens sometimes and things don't always fit perfectly but i would say it's more of a hobby than a "belief" or a "religion" or whatever.

I kinda believe, because like 80-90% of things that Pisces accounts (my sign) say are true, like i never followed one until recently, only saw that stuff once in a while, but now that im following it, most of the stuff that that account posts, is actual true. I don't how or why tho

No, I don't. I'm not a spiritual or superstitious person; I don't really believe in stuff that can't be proven to be true. However, if people believe in astrology, or enjoy it as a hobby, then I'm completely fine with it. Everyone should believe in/enjoy what they like as long as they're not harming themselves or other people.

I dont have a problem with zodiac signs but if people use it for excuses like, "sorry, im an aries" or I HATE THOSE VIDEOS ON TIKTOK THAT SAYS,"BLAH BLAH BLAH ACCORDING TO YOUR ZODIAC SIGN" I HATE THOSE SO FREAKING MUCH BECAUSE THEY'RE ALWAYS WRONG WITH ME.

Im a sag and todays my birthday but whenever i see something with sag and its cute and stuff, thats not me, I DONT ACT CUTE OR STUFF, I HATE STUFF LIKE THAT. ITS ALWAYS A SOFT PERSON FOR SAG BUT IM NOT A SOFT PERSON. I hate," UwU" or, "OwO" or stuff like that, i used to be like that and i regret it, i never use those again.

Im pretty on the religious side of things.
I dont believe in the horoscopes whatsoever.

Interestingly though, i do believe the names we
are given are important and at some part of our
lives, can be matched to ourselves.

Of course, dont take that as a literal "our entire
personaily is determined by our name".
- A personality is filled with so many traits while a
  name only defines one. So its not a stretch that
  the likelihood of a person matching their name in
  some aspect will happen.
- Furthermore, a name can be interpreted in
  multiple ways, increasing that likelihood further.
So far, every person ive met could somehow be connected to the meaning behind their names when
I asked what the meaning was.

Admittingly, thats why i get kinda sad when a persons name has no meaning or if they're named after something silly.

I'm kinda in the middle about zodiac signs because it defines me to an extent. There are some things that they do get right and wrong about me. (a Leo) I mainly just focus on my sun sign. I used to look up my daily horoscope everyday and one of those had to do with being sick and to take medicine, while I was actually sick on that day. Leo's have that reputation of being outgoing, optimistic, and wanting attention. The first two describe me pretty well, except the attention part. I like attention, but ultimately it depends on the kind that it is, otherwise I don't like it. Nonetheless, zodiac signs are fun to get into for yourself and others in terms of compatibility.
