but like me not simping over a demon (╹////╹๑)
disappointed, seriously. The main thing that I hate is how the Demons look. In the manga they are terrifying, and it's not because here we use colors/CGI no, just bad artists, the anime should be scary, when you read the manga you actually get scared but those are just tinny dogs without hair. Also, they rushed the story and skipped some parts which I don't think was a good idea.
Yes anime adaptations are different from the manga and usually worse, and I am fine with the story cutting whatever it's not bad, but I can't watch at the Demons, those who haven't read the manga, take a look.
those are the demons who chased Ray.
It's for sure that I had high expectations, but they had a very good potential for a horror anime
i completely agree with you. another thing that disappointed me was that they are cutting many parts of the manga, not even there was tension between the children when they saw a demon. honestly i'm afraid of spoiling this season :|
yeah now that I think about it it's the first time most children saw a demon they should have a reaction, also anime onlys are already confused and think they missed a movie or an ova because of how much stuff was removed
it wasn't shown how emma and ray figured out the functions of the pen, nor the dispatch of pursuit, the vine pit chapters I won't even mention
I felt that it was rushed too much and something was missing, I just barely remembered but I was sure they were somewhere underground before getting to the demon, and I was right. The trap they tried to capture the demon there, first they dropped there themselves, overall they got 8 chapters for 1 episode, which I don't understand, why? Even in terms of money, you would get more from more episodes.
The only logical answer I got for myself, is that they wanted to make the first episode very interesting (which they for sure did, but at what cost?), the payment is skipping a lot chapters and making it looking rushed, tho it was possible make it interesting without showing EVERYTHING.
I've missed this show!!
I love how the first episode cuts straight to the chase.
The OP and ED are both excellent in terms of visuals and music. I especially love the ED. Myuk has a lovely voice and E ve's music never disappoints.
I just love this panel of Norman in the ED
The OST continues to be phenomenal too. I liked the music that was playing when Emma and Ray were following Mujika (the demon girl).
With this season only consisting of 11 episodes, I do expect the anime to cut a lot of scenes from the manga.
I do agree that the demons that were chasing Ray looked a lot better in the manga.
I feel like when it came to the demons being revealed I think they should’ve focused on the kids expressions more like in the manga; it wasn’t an impressionable first episode honestly. I enjoyed it but between the demons and the rushed pacing it could’ve been better! I’m happy the series is back though (ノ▽〃)
Seems like this episode has opposite reactions for anime-onlys versus manga-ppl.
most anime guys think this episode was done really well (including me) though manga fans are saying this was 8 chapters worth of content, so yea i can definitely get that stuff was cut out if that was the case.
I did see a little bit on how those generic demons look in some manga screencaps and yea it sucks that the demons were simplified, but other than that i very much enjoyed this episode.
I think it was pretty good, the animation studio does the manga justice which Im quite happy about. A favorite character so far would be Ray. https://sushiiiwithsoysauce.wordpress.com/2020/10/30/the-promised-neverland-review/
that is a season 1 review which I thought was pretty good btw.
liked the animation. I'm a little intruiged by Mr.Minerva. I felt a rush when they were being chased by the demons. I felt like there should have been depth with the pen. I also have a theory for the demons:
The demons use the masks to resist their urge to snack on the children; they can also communicate human speech using the masks. When the kids were getting chased by the demon monster you can see he had no mask and was beserk. But if he had a mask he could have communicated with the children. I feel like the demons might take off their masks in a rage for the people not being able to capture the high priority children and make an attack on the world
It was pretty solid. They did skip a lot of things in the manga, but from an anime viewpoint, they did what they needed to show. If they adapted every detail from the manga, it would of been a much slower pace and people would probably complain. It's not a bad thing though, it's what they decided to fit into an anime media. Art wise, I expected them to go down the CGI/simple art for most of the demons. The amount of time it would have taken to match the manga art would be crazy. It's not an excuse though because they definitely could of put more detail on the demons for the still shots. At least they compensate it with the fact that the environment looks beautiful and gives off a whole different feeling compared to the manga. Overall, I'm looking forward to the rest since my favorite arc is later on.
I liked it. Episode one didn't hit as hard the first episode of the first season but it was good nonetheless. Opening is fine, ending is great. Overall it's decent.
Personally I didn't find anything to nitpick, but I've heard some manga readers claiming that the squeezed seven chapters into one episode. I'll have to verify that. Also I've seen an image of the demons from the manga and the anime doesn't quite capture their sheer terrifying appearance.
Eagerly awaiting episode 2.
i really liked the first episode. the animation was really cool and the creature was pretty interesting to see. kinda sad about the op because the first one was so cool.
sorta on the same topic, but ive heard things about the manga? as an anime only, im not sure where exactly but ive heard that the series fluctuates between good and bad? and so im bracing myself in advance already. i think season one was a perfect ending to the series tbh. i feel like the series is getting into territory where it feels like it need to keep amping it up. i think the series is cool with not knowing what's truly out there and it ending on knowing they escaped just suits the vibe i got. but since a second season is here, i might as well find out what's out there
im holding out hope norman is alive tho :(
I'm cautiously excited to see more, I'm basically anime only having only read a couple chapters of post-season 1.
First episode left me intrigued, but not enthralled. Season 1 also started slow for me, only becoming something I was really hyped for halfway through, so I'm willing to give it a watch.
