Just caught this on Prime in the US today. This was one of the coolest horror experiences I've ever seen - the whole thing was made with hand-painted and moved paintings and some strategically-placed liquids. This was so cool!
I would recommend skipping the Prime version since the localization is HORRID. Names pronounced differently from line to line, no on-screen text subtitled, and a script that occasionally misspells characters' names (which the lifeless dub then pronounces the same incorrect way). I felt like I was watching one of the adult swim parodies of 60s anime. The Japanese version has Aoi Yuuki and Ono Daisuke in leading roles among other big names, so definitely check out that version.
