Personality:
Scion is a purposely aloof individual, who refuses to befriend either any human or any fairy that would tie her down. making her difficult to get close to. However, when someone is lucky enough to gain her love and trusts, she gives it wholeheartedly and this frightens her because she knows she can become loyal to a fault. When a person gets to know Scion's true personality, they'll find that she's very cheerful and enjoys looking for the bright side on most things. At the same time, Scion is an utter crybaby - who can be moved to tears quite quickly in sad, happy and frustrating times. Scion is very lazy and likes to enjoy her spare time without interference. Comically, if she sees any cockroach, forget her wolf-instincts, you won't find her 10 miles within the area.
Growing up with fairies means Scion is skillful when it comes to avoiding pranks, however much to her brother's dismay, she's somewhat clumsy on her own despite that. Due to an incident in her childhood, Scion has a fear of being in large bodies of water. In her spare time, she can be found either reading a book beneath the sunlight or sleeping in a tree beneath the stars. When Scion is unhappy, she'll be in the forest by herself, which is dangerous because in those moments she doesn't care about what happens to her. When she's happy, she'll often be humming without realising it.
History:
Despite her half-blood, Scion had quite the joyful childhood. Fairies take amusements in things that are different and so the Winter court welcomed her in with open arms. Thus, as Aeylia, she spent her childhood growing up in Tir Na Nog, the Winter court of the fairies alongside her older royal half-siblings - her brother Arion and her sister Sereia of the Zephyr family - learning all the tricks and magics of the court. While her step-mother did not take a liking to her, often turning her into a court joke in front of all the other fairies, the love from her father, brother and sister was all the comfort she needed for such antics to fail at hindering her.
When Aeylia was 8 years old, she was attacked by a kelpie and had nearly drowned. Blaming her human blood for not being able to sense the kelpie before it had snatched her, her father began to worry that the world of Faerie was too dangerous for her to live in. So he ordered Arion to take Aeylia to the neighbouring human kingdom of Zariya and continue her training there. Shortly after entering Zariya, knowing Aeylia and Arion were royals from the Faerie kingdom, the human king sent an invitation to them to the ball at the palace for the celebration of the Spring fest, one they could not turn out without insulting the king. At the ball, Aeylia met a boy - Kallum Lancaster - a few years older than her. The boy had been standing in a corner by himself, set apart from his family. Feeling at odds with everything around her and hoping to find a sense of comfort in the boy who appeared to be feeling the same, she approached him. And thus, began Aeylia's first friendship with a human. Later, she would sneak away from her brother often to go visit Kallum at his noble's home and they would both run off to the forest to play, unbeknownst to their guardians. After a year had passed however, those simple times came to an end when Aeylia was greeted at the gate of the Lancaster manor upon what would be her final visit, by a maid-servant, and was told that Kallum had died in an accident.
Since then, Aeylia refuses to befriend any other person in hopes of never suffering the pain she had felt back then ever again. When Aeylia had grown strong enough to protect herself in Faerie, against her Father's orders, she stayed in Zariya still, refusing to leave the only place where the memories of the boy she once knew lay. After her brother returned to Tir Na Nog without her, Aeylia changed her name to Scion Silverbeat in order to avoid the attention of those who knew of the Winter royals. In addition, she began to don a boyish outlook to avoid the hassle of being targeted on the basis of being a girl. At the start of The Moonlight Garde, Scion is making a living on her music and is staying in a makeshift home she created in a library, one she managed to convince the librarian to let her remain in, in return for fortnightly payments.
Fun Fact:
Scion's name is a code that acts as her secret reminder of who she really is. Scion represents the "heir" she is to a royal lineage, Silver represents a a mirror to the soul and thus feelings, Beat represents music. When Scion plays her music, without others knowing, this is the one point she acknowledges the lie she is living, letting out her feelings for the parts of her home that she misses.
"Seasons change you know! The world might seem pretty now, but it won't last! It never does! Even if that beauty wanted to stay, time would stomp it out because that's the law of everything, it can't belong everywhere, it can't -- " - Kallum
"Then i guess we'll just have to be the stars" - Scion
" ... What? " Kallum
"You're right. Everywhere i've been, places have always been so different, sometimes painfully so even. But i've found, that there's one thing, it doesn't matter where you go, it's always there - the sky. So lets just be the stars, kay? Actually, moonlight sounds even better! That way, we'll light the way for all seasons. And when the darkness of night tries to hide them away, we'll be there, telling the whole world 'Hey, we're still here, so don't you dare stop looking at us!' " - Scion
wow, this is amazing! where did you find the inspiration?
I didn't ^^'
I just had a pfp that looked like a boy
But i wanted it to be a girl yet couldnt find a pfp i liked better.
Plus i like fae
Thouh later on i changed stuff up because a friend on anilist
saw this and we both started making actual stories for it
with other characters and different sorts of world building that
needed adjustments. The biggest changed being the history
where i had to add in some characters.
Anyways, the rest of this is all linked in my bio
So theres actually a TONNE related to this single post here.
