Even excusing the excess amounts of rape, this anime's horrible IMO.
This just feels like what a Japanese Onision would write.
Power tripping main character, mind controlling a 15 year old to make her your sex slave, having girls take your cum to level up, raping a 12 year old to increase her power... it goes on.
I felt like this anime had a great premise, a good start, but god did it sputter out and fail. Not even a graceful fail, the enjoyment just stopped.
Also what the fuck is up with his skills? He's a HEALING mage, right??? A lot of his powers seem to fit other characters better. Too overpowered, like he can literally change his skill points to whatever he wants.

I enjoyed the first episode of the anime personally. The rape and all the torture could've been good if actually executed well. Look at Game of Thrones, it has rape but it atleast does it good story-wise instead of just having it for the shits and giggles.

It's a novel written for teenagers and actual otaku i.e. people with no taste. Of course it's gonna be bad, of course it's gonna be a power fantasy, so I'm not sure what you expected. Good part about it is it brought plenty of amusing people out of the woodwork who defend and praise it, given me plenty of laughs.

Rape is fine in anime and all that, but the reason why we don't like this show is not because the rape but the story. It tries to be super edgy, and it shines in that regard. This would have been much better if it was marketed as a hentai instead of an anime.

but if u check my fav list there is also another manga similar to this type but not an ecchi but more savage revenges. but both background are different, that one had more gore than this.Maybe anime have given slight misunderstanding at some starting episodes but the whole thing is justified for me(Not my fav though). i literally hate humiliation and female domination and slavery than these minor stuff
I have to agree, even when I lower my expectations to hentai level this show is nothing more than surface level shock factor + power fantasy. But hey maybe it opens a new door and Hentais with actual good stories will get a proper full adaptation

I agree. It IS bad but it's still somewhat enjoyable. It's kinda like Shield Hero but even more incel. Like Naofumi's shield, his "Heal" magic kinda just takes abilities and experiences from those he healed. Which is just as much of an ass pull. That said, Shield Hero actually HAD A STORY going for it. Healer is literally just about getting revenge and like, maybe killing the demon king if he feels like it.
It's 100% at it's core, pure revenge shock rape fantasy. Though it can be fun if you just stop caring for 23 minutes.

I didn't read the light novel but prior to this I read the manga version some months ago and dropped it because it really felt like something an edgy teenager would write. I was surprised it even got adapted into an anime. Like imagine what other light novel/manga could have been adapted with the resources the studio set for this show. I'm actually kinda curious now to know how and why this got approved. Were they expecting something so outlandish like this to gather enough publicity to bring attention to the show? Or does this have a big enough fanbase in Japan for it to be adapted?
In any case, personally I might drop it halfway, there's too much upcoming edge and horrible plot/characters for me to stick with this series. Flare/Freia is hot but it's just not enough for me to continue.

Honestly, I can't comment on the exact light novel source but based off what I know I honestly don't think it'd work as well if it was hentai. There is some revenge hentai yes but at the end of the day I don't think the series would have been treated seriously if it was one. I mean, we're only having this discussion and its only got the attention of people because it's passing itself off as an anime.
And as a hentai it's too softcore in the ecchi scenes, and even if the studio did shift into focusing more on them (and subsequently make it more of a hentai) the storyline might suffer and end up being worse than what we already have. It'd end up being basically an edgier Rance clone. Heck they even both got pink haired blue-eyed companions.

Tbh at least in the novel its explained that it isnt exactly "healing per se" but that the ability also enables you to heal. its a broad term .
Since this is a revenge series ofc the MC isnt your flower guy. Dude was raped himself and he takes revenge so it makes somewhat sense.
In the west we have similiar stuff though theres a whole horror genre called"rape and revenge" like " i spit on your grave" "Eden Lake" for example so nothing that special.
But not so much pure rape fantasy since it does have a story and it does have some purpose. story is okayish nothing special but not too bad either. not sure why there always need threads to be made.
