pretty self explanatory
Eren Yeager
Malty S mecromarc as well or whatever her name is. Joke of a human
Strongly disagree with this one. She works as an amazing allusion to modern society, and thus an important character.
I hope not @HaremRoute. Are you talking out of experience?
Maybe?
Malty is a product and a perfect representation of a society that blindly follows and spoils people with victim mentality. It does not help them. Does not lend them a friendly hand. But praises them, whether they deserve it or not. Pats them on the head. Panders to their every whim. Trusts their every word without question.
A blind society that thinks they are kind, and some of them really have good intentions, but instead of "teaching a hungry person to fish", they throw them a fish at every turn.
I'll never truly love her as a character. How could anyone?
But I absolutely love what she represents and shows.
Okay, okay maybe. If you look deeper into her character what you say might be true.
But wasn't naofumi being set-up? He was the shield hero notorious for helping the oppressed in that country or something like that? (It's been a while since I've seen the show). He was hated from the very start and everybody knew malty was spoiled goods besides the spear dude (dense motherf*cker that he was). She was just royalty and she could get away with it. I always thought people didn't mind what she did because she was royalty and that's why they treated her like the victim like that. Also, since naofumi was the infamous shield hero they also enjoyed kicking him down and that's why they backed her up, to see him suffer.
Personally I think it wasn't meant to be a representatation of society with victim mentality. I think the pre-existing hatred towards the shield hero, her royal privilages and mentality were the reason for what happend. Her allegations were just the catalyst for everybody to bandwagon on the "get rid of the shieldhero" train. They knew what happend, nobody was trying to be kind to her like you might have suggested and the spoiling with victim mentality was all a farce to kick naofumi to the curb.
Unlike real society though, this mentality is not faked and what you said is true. People pick the side of the victim without checking, but unlike in shield hero it is mostly done with good intentions
I don't like Eren that much but, why do you thant him gone?
Shitty ass character. I've explained it multiple times on this forum, but he pisses me off. THIS IS GOING TO HAVE MASSIVE SPOILERS FOR AOT SEASON 1 TO 3.
1) He can't seem to become either reliable or capable: Every fight he takes he loses WORST PROTAGONIST EVER. He fights annie in the forest--> Kidnapped. He fights bertold and reiner? --> Kidnapped The entire city then has to roll out like autobots to go and save his sorry ass again.
Even in the cases that he won he still sort of lost.
He fights annie in the city --> Somewhat wins with the help of mikasa but annie still managed to seal herself away. He fights bertold in season 3 part 2 he manages to win but armin fucking died. This guy is just incapable
2) Fucking screws up whenever it's needed the most like I already said, he fights bertold and still armin dies. He faces off against a bigass titan who tries to kill hannes. He actually wins! (after Hannes fucking dies) incompetent piece of shit.
3) Goes against his subordinates + does stupidly ridiculous things that endanger humanity. WTF is the deal with eren and mikasa arguing against levi about whether to pick armin or erwin? How is that even an option, baby-faced armin should never have been picked in my opinion but that aside I understand why Levi did it. Letting his buddy rest. But in the end Levi picked that option because of his own choosing and they had no reason to question authority like that. Oh and wasn't he supposed to return or something after annie killed levi-squad but he decided to pursue her anyway AND HE GOT KIDNAPPED BECAUSE OF THIS DECISION? Although I don't remember how this happend though, but this is how I remember it, if it's true then he again has proven himself to be a f*cking moron
4) WHY DOES EVERYBODY THINK THIS DUDE IS SO AMAZING, HES BIG TIME GARBO
1) Annie is much stronger than Eren, remember she is getting trained since years, first from her dad then Marley and later inside the walls. Also, Eren just found out that he is a titan and started the training recently. Additionally, he was captured after he saw the Female Titan doing the Annie fighting move so he was pretty shocked. On top he saw his friends die so he is emotionally overwhelmed. He is a teenager after all.
About fighting her in the city, I understand your frustration, but he is a 15 years old who just found that someone he thought as a friend just betrayed them so he can't easily come to kill her when he saw her face and held back (Remember Sasha and Connie didn't want to kill Reiner in S3 part 2 at first). Again, Annie is stronger than Eren because of years of training. About Reiner vs Eren, he actually was winning if it wasn't for Colossal Titan's big ass head falling on them, which I'm sure nobody was ready for.
About Armin dying, in that battle everybody was actually overwhelmed, at a certain point everyone though they were gonna die.. heck even Erwin decided to go for a suicidal attack because he thought it was the only way to win against Zeke. Levi attacked just like Eren and Armin/Erwin were the baits. Still Zeke escaped and Berthold was killed, so is Levi useless too? No, he was just not prepared for the Cart Titan. From what Armin says when they are taking back Shiganshina is that they know so little about the titans that they get put in defence position in ways they would never think of. That's what that battle was about.
2) He tried to save Hannes, but if you noticed his limbs were still growing back and shifters can't transform until their limbs completely heal. I don't think he knew that at the time and even if he waited they weren't going to grow back faster.
3) If you were in Eren and Mikasa's position you wouldn't let that happen either. Remember, Armin is their childhood friend, is not easy to let go.
4) People like him a lot because he had amazing development.. From the hot headed teenager who went through one betrayal after the other he is now someone who know what he has to do no matter how hard it will be, he is calculative, thinks logically and is calm even when he is overwhelmed by the enemy(see his fight with Jaw/war hammer) because he isn't 15 anymore and because of what he went through, he is prepared. Also, he got a huge burden by possessing the power of the Attack titan (knowing future memories and all) still his goal has been always the same which is freedom and he won't stop until he achieves it, no matter how many enemies e will face.
Just my two cents :)
1)I feel like a lot of your comments are trying to cover for Eren's fuckups really @MicchiMi. I know you're not, but that's just how it feels. I know I'm looking at his fights a bit shortsightedly but it doesn't change the fact that he always loses. Talking about something as vague as them being "overwhelmed" kinda diminishes your points. The enemy was "overwhelmed" as well, right? Or they didn't feel that at all? I believe reiner/bertold and annie were in most of the instances the ones outnumbered right? but EREN was the one that got overwhelmed? Eren doesn't win fights, he only loses. Shitty protagonist in my opinion.
(Also on Levi and the cart titan, yes levi was useless there. How did he not spot that massive cart titan approaching him? Isn't he humanity's strongest warrior? IMPOSSIBLE. But atleast Levi has enough fights where he sticks it to his opponent for real think about Kenny's squad and he had to cover for mikasa's fuck up when dealing with Annie as well)
2)I did not know about the growing limbs theory, if that was actually the case than he had shit luck. However, it does make me chuckle knowing that he is THAT unlucky. But if that's the case (I have to go back and watch the episode to know if they were still growing back or not) then I guess he is somewhat forgiven.
3) I-N-S-U-B-O-R-D-I-N-A-T-I-O-N
4)And you claim that he has grown up from the hot headed teenager syndrome? How he charged in blindly onto bertold, not even thinking about Armin's plan to kill himself. Bluntly attacking Levi over his decision to save Erwin (the better option if only Levi wasn't such a softy pushover)? He continues to fucking SCREEM FOR MURDER everytime he attacks the titans. He didn't get over shit and he relied on his allies to do the calculating and logically thinking part, I don't agree with you there. He's but a child. I just can't get over him!
1) Annie, Reiner and Berthold being outnumbered and still winning doesn't mean shit if the person in front of them doesn't even know what's going on. E.g. in the forest scene S1, Annie was outnumbered and captured yes, however she was able to escape because of her titan powers with which she called all the mindless titans so they could eat her. Annie using titan powers to "escape" from being captured by the Survey Corps at the end of S1. S2 Bertholdt using his titan power to generate all that hot steam which let him and Reiner escape. If the Survey Corp knew about all that and how to counter attack it they wouldn't have had let that happen. So ya being outnumbered doesn't mean anything if your opponent knows nothing or very less about you. The trio kept escaping/winning because they had knowledge by their side which the SC lacked a the time. It wasn't an even deal from the start.
2) Yes, they grow back few seconds before he punches Dina.
3) So wait how did you want them to react? 'Oh ya Armin, our childhood friend, yes no worries please go ahead and choose Erwin'. For them to not have any reaction or being fine without putting a fight would be actually unnatural. If Sasha was in Armin's position I'm sure Connie would put up a fight too at first. I mean isn't that normal human behaviour, wanting someone u care about to live over someone you don't care as much of. I'm sure if they went ahead without any problem people would complain about how 'they are fake friends' lol.
Additionally I might be reading too much into it however, we know that the reason why Levi wants Erwin to live is because he is much more experienced, they need him, but you can't deny the fact that it might have had been also partially personal bias, since Levi is much closer to Erwin than Armin.
Also, we can always say that Levi is selfish because after hearing Floch say that Erwin is actually a Devil and he should taste more of the hell that they are living in, Levi decides to let Erwin die because he doesn't want his friend to keep experiencing that hell. So you see, no matter which angle you look at it human beings are selfish and they have biases. So did Eren and Mikasa.
4) He was 10 when his mom dies because of a titan, ofc he gonna hate on them. When I claim about him growing up I mean after the 4 years which you can't deny he did grow up out his hot headed teenage phase.
You don't have to get over him, that was just my opinion.
I would really wanna argue on this but looks like you and @MicchiMi have already been debating and you have finished the discussion. It's sad I would have loved to try to convince to you that he is a great character
Maybe your way of explaining a character psychology and actions is much better than mine xD
Oh no I am not doubting your explanation, I just love to argue about stuff if that makes sense lol
The Principality of Wy!
i never heard it ;-;
Hetalia...
The anime got a lot of flack because it made light of a time that was full of chaos and war. ... The station that aired the anime pulled the show and never aired it because of death threats and the overwhelming petition
lmao i searched it up
Okay so basically Hetalia is a show where countries are represented by humans..
Even some micronations like Sealand or Hutt River (doesn't exist anymore).
One of those characters is a little girl representing the Principality of Wy, she kept Sealand back from achieving his dreams by just being annoying and tsundere blablabla it isn't that complicated she is just annoying.
Rolo from Code geass, but if I could choose a VN then the little rat Kokichi from Danganronpa V3 would take priority
Man finally someone who doesnt like him.
Kokichi or Rolo? :P
Probably the danganronpa character @HaremRoute This is Chiaki after all
Hate based or like based?
Cause i hate Kokichi since he is just annoying as hell. Not only that, he lies all the time, one character dies because of him.At least Rolo redeemed himself by rescuing Lelouch.Kokichi did literally nothing, just made it worse and worse for himself.GOD i fucking hate this manipulative lying fuck.
Kokichi is the goat, what do you mean
i don't see any redeeming or likeable qualities on him, just made the experience much worse for me
Really? I think he is a much added addition, since most characters ended up grouping up together. Sprinkling in some danger from someone who isn't Monokuma was a pretty nice addition, and he is funny as a character himself, being super unreliable and never knowing what the hell he is going to do.
Especially during the Angie and Tenko trial. Only thing i remember from that is the troll Kokichi put up which was funny as hell
If RentaGirlfriend had another main character than Kazuya Kinoshita, the show could have been pretty good.
Nobuyuki Sugou
For what he did to best girl Asuna at the end of season one.
But if I wanted a character to not exist, it'd probably be Judau Ashta from ZZ
I didn't hate him, but I didn't like him either as a Gundam pilot, guy was way too OP.
Oh my... you can't tell me that you hate Judau more than Kamille..?
Actually, that's the first I hear of people not liking Judau to begin with. Curious.
I mean said I didn't hate Judea, I just didn't like him as much as the others. For me Kamille was an interesting character. I won't deny that at the start of the series he was really annoying. But later on as the series progressed he changed and matured for the better, not to mention his Newtype powers while strong still felt consistent with what we've seen. Plus as a pilot Kamille started off rough but his skill grew as he fought more if I recall correctly.
Compare that to Judea here who was already a strong Newtype early on and stupidly OP, but what I didn't like the most was that it didn't feel like his character changed much. Also I can't remember right but I believe his skill as a pilot was great from the start. His personality was better suited for the first half of the series, but for the second half I can't recall any memorable moments with him aside from when he was with Haman.
