So I've read the leaks of the newest Chapter and I am really worried
Im gonna talk about the things that sound promising to me first:
_1."Armin and Zeke talks about the meaning of life in the Path. Zeke thinks the purpose of men being born to this world is to simply live, mate, reproduce and die.
But Armin picks up a leaf which represents the memory of EMA's childhood, claiming that memories like this does not do any good to reproduction, yet they are not meaningless"
_
Comment: I love this kind of Dialogue between Zeke and Armin showing both of their views
2."On the other side, Gabi sniped the Okapi Titan and got its eye, where Mikasa ended it with a finishing blow, saving Armin from its mouth."
Comment: I love the Gabi x Mikasa action and I imagine it looking really cool!
Now the things I really dislike(maybe even hate to some extent)
1.Zeke agreed to sacrifice himself to stop the rumbling so he emerged from the Founding titan and waved to Levi, commenting on what a beautiful day it is to die before got decapitated by his arch nemesis.
Comment: Levi is way too weak rn to be able to do anything. Also it is a big plothole why Zeke didnt stop the Rumbling by ending his life before. Like he was always against the Rumbling. Also Eren gained the power of Ymir, so basically Zeke was the Door to the founding titan but his death should not affect the door being closed
2.Meanwhile, many of the deceased appeared in the background - Porco, Ymir (104th), Grisha, Kushava, Bertholdt, Marcel, etc, with the founding Ymir standing aside them. Both Zeke and Armin asked them for help.
Outside the Path, Annie and Reiner are ganged up by Titans and in grave danger. Then Bertholdt assisted Annie and Galliard Bros assisted Reiner. The alliance is surprised by the previous titans helping them
Comment: I like the deceased appearing in the paths but them turning good and getting talk no jutsud by the power of friendship? HELL NO PLS no fairy tail x Naruto crossover
3.The rumbling stopped. Jean rushed to the head of the Founding Titan and pushed the detonator, blowing off titan's head from its spine.
The spine part of the Attack Titan tries to attach back to the head but to no avail due to Reiner's resistance. Other alliance members retreats to Falco, with Pieck saying Reiner is determined to stop Eren no matter the cost, besides the armor can withstand the detonation. This chapter ends with an explosion on the Founding Titan
Comment: So it looks like Eren is at a bad spot, might have an ace up on the sleeve but I dont like the direction. Also everyone is escaping? wth I cant believe Isayama isnt killing off Pieck
My last statement: I dont want to judge leaks without context, but we have to think these are true considering the fact this leaker leaked the last Chapters and he was right.
I dont want a Talk no Jutsu in AoT with a major Plothole implemented in this Chapter im worried, but I trust Isayama not doing asspulls.
I don't like it at all, seems that Isayama is coming up with pretty much ass-pulls..I don't mind the alliance winning, I just wished it wasn't like this. When I read the leaks the only thing was "wtf is this"... Also, I do believe it might be all for nothin and in chapter 138 we see Eren coming up with a uno reverse. Also, what worries me is that we got 2 chapters left so I really don't know how Isayama will wrap up everything.
Have faith. No way the rumbling is ending so soon. It doesn't feel right.
Hard to have faith when shit like Titans with wings, summoning titans from the dead and other asspulls appear out of nowhere.
The quality of writing has dropped within the past year imo. Peak aot was chapters 120-125
I agree with you, but I would hardly call them asspulls. Well, actually they probably are, but since no one knew what the full extent of Founding Titan's abilities are, it's not too bad.
As for the flying titan, its the same as when Falco first shifted, he just put his wings to use. It still feels random-ish, I'll admit, but at least Isayama is tryna fix his mistakes. Falco's titan is so heavily foreshadowed in the anime that I don't think anyone would be surprised by the reveal.
But yes, peak AoT was 120-125
I will def agree that the quality has gone down but i think Isayama has a few things up his sleeves, although i still hate the fact that we haven't gotten an explanation about the Tree Ymir fell in and Falco with his flying Titan thing.
Hoping for the best when it comes to next chapter or else i will be VERY dissapointed unless the final chapter does something...great.
the leaks are real
bros. its over. this manga is garbage
dont give up hope bro, Mikasa and Levi arent 100% ackermann, Eren might change their memories and Eren makes Levi think that he killed Zeke or something, maybe Eren will revive Zeke just like Ymir did when he exploded, or Eren forced Zeke to sacrifice himself to be a decoy and the Rumbling wont stop.
Like I said im very worried, but Isayama has the potential to make something good out of this chapter
I have always thought that Rumbling ending wouldn't be a possibility at all, considering Alliance doesn't know where Eren is and Eren doesn't(?) want to end the Rumbling.
Also, Jean of all people ending the Rumbling? That doesn't feel right, considering Isayama has been hyping up something between Mikasa and Eren. I think Rumbling might be stopped for a second but the one that actually will have an impact will probably be Armin/Mikasa.
Jean of all people ending the Rumbling
I feel like this is ironic. In the opening of AOT when Jean uses his cowardly, but realistic ideas of basically not fighting is the best way to stay alive. Although Jean is dead wrong because if Paradis did nothing, they probably would have got nuked or some shit, it does show that at the moment, his realism wasn't all broken. Using that same person to end Rumbling feels like Jean slapping sense into Eren.
Idk man, I literally just came up with that now lmao.
I don't know why people got upset at it really, I always knew the alliance would win, the rumbling has lasted a little while now, maybe if it was a little longer it would have an effect. But this is literally what AOT has been going on since the Return to Shiganshina arc. About life and where humans stand in the world.
Maybe I am wrong about something tho.
I gotta say this chapter and all the events was something that NO ONE expected. I really do not want to say this since I have been a huge AOT fan since 2013 but I am a little underwhelmed by this chapter.
I will not say that I am underwhelmed at the ending since we still have 2 more chapters to come out, I still believe Isayama can turn this into a masterful ending but nothing like the fans had in mind
I remember reading somewhere that Isayama wanted to end the story in a way reminiscent to The Mist and later wanted to end it like a Marvel movie (can't confirm if this is true or not but thats what I heard), and I really REALLY hope it's not the latter one.
From now on I will go forward with this series without any expectations or predictions on how things will turn out, because I still want to believe that the ending is not complete.
Beautiful chapter with Armin and Zeke talking. The landscapes are phenomenal as well. I think there's still room for eren to recover, and finish the rumbling. It would be tragic, but I kinda want an ending where either everyone dies, or they fail to stop the rumbling, but Mikasa, Armin and the others live.
Thanks to r/titanfolk I'm now a Fingerstein shipper lmaooo
And they had lots of teeny moments this chapter :<
Kidding aside tho it would be really weird if that was it (LOL) like didn't expect AOT of all things to be /by the power of friendship, we stopped the rumbling!!!/
Zeke and Armin's talk about the little things was beautiful
A little disappointed that Armin's talk no jutsu (B-but UMI DA) worked on Zeke too and 5 mins later he is like "ok imma head out, Levi plz kill me". I was waiting for so long for the Levi revenge but this really left a bad taste in my mouth and I don't want it anymore. Additionally, we get back dead people? :| and with the power of friendship we'll save the day~ ...yay!
Also, Kruger please decide on which side you wanna be, it's already hard to keep track :0
Betholdt still simping hard.
Reiner's plot armor thicker than Annie's titanic ass.
Gabi-senpai please teach me how to shoot.
The only good thing about this chapter is Jean.
Anddd ofc I want to see Eren's POV already.
ehh idk Armin wasn't really trying to convince Zeke to not be evil anymore and to save the world together. Zeke had already given up on his plan and didn't know what to do next and asked Armin why life is so important and Armin explained out of his perspective what it means and wasn't really trying to force Zeke to start helping them.
It was already known that the Eldians are connected to each other with the coordinate, and The levi revenge wouldn't be needed since everybody knows Levi is stronger than zeke andwould've maybe caused plot armor, why would they even fight each other in the middle of a battlefield full of titans when everyone else is busy taking down Eren?
And the last thing i gotta say that the scouts and marleyans wanting to take down Eren to save their world isn't with the power of friendship they just wanna end this misery they are currently in right now.
I guess it is my optimism showing but I really liked this chapter. I don't really know what everyone else wanted but I think the way Isayama is going with this story is pretty good. I feel like the next chapter will be closing up the climax while the last chapter will be an epilogue. Though nobody died in this chapter I still think it will end with some of the cast dying and I don't mean by natural ways...probably a grudge for what happened (Yeah that's what started Attack on Titan but that level of irony would probably work in the story's favor because humanity is so stupid). All in all yeah I like this chapter and I bet there are some people hating on this because they saw the text in leaks prior, said WTF?!, and brushed off the execution.
I liked it. The Zeke and Armin conversation was beautiful.
About the Eren death, though, I doubt that with all of my five feet six inches. Eren is definitely alive still. This chapter felt like Isayama was lulling the characters into a false sense of security and forcing the readers to expect an explanation and resolution in 138, when he actually has something big planned. He's done that before after all: At the start of the Struggle for Trost, the tone was hopeful and victorious until the Colossal appeared the second time to fuck shit up. Remember, Eren also 'died' then.
I suspect that in chapter 138, we'll see the true final battle. Not between Eren and the entire Alliance, but rather between Eren and Reiner (yes, for the first time I actually want Reiner's plot armour). What's better than a battle between two people who are in fact the same. It would reflect the pointlessness and hopelessness of war quite nicely, I think.
