  You can always watch a few episodes, and if you like it, that means you can get 900 episode's worth of enjoyment lol. And you can always start with the manga first until it reaches the point where it "gets good" for you, at which point you can switch to the anime, or stay with the manga, since manga is always going to go by faster (so you waste less time).

  As a One Piece fan, if you still don't like it after ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY episodes, you should just drop it. The story doesn't get better or worse after the time skip, it's pretty consistent in terms of quality.
  
  Some even say it gets worse post time skip, but that's mostly nostalgia talk in my opinion.

  Pretty sure the Big 3 is Naruto, One Piece, Bleach which were the front-runners of Shounen Jump magazine at one point of time with really high sales

  I feel bad for you, there's probably a bunch of other great anime that you could watch while ENJOYING yourself MUCH MORE.
  
  Also, there's no real reason to go through "the big three", it's like forcing yourself to listen to every pop album released in the past 2 decades just because they had a lot of sales/streams!

The anime gets worse after around 500 episodes, but the manga is always pretty solid, I wouldn't claim it to be the best shonen I have experienced but its world building is second to none.

I'm 425 episodes into it, and I'm really liking it.

If you're looking for a battle shounen, I'd say look elsewhere. There are fights in One Piece, but it's not the main draw.
However, if you're a fan of the adventure genre, it has a great sense of adventure, and a lot of that has to do with the variety of the world and how it's built out over time.

Of course, if you're put off by the character designs or the goofy humor, can't do much about that, the show has it in spades... but for somebody like me who really enjoys that kind of stuff, and whose favorite genre is probably adventure, the show has been a blast, despite the somewhat slow pacing the show eventually ends up having.

idk, theres a chance it can get better, but its alot of episodes to get through to so its a big risk. more worthwhile to try out smaller anime that you will have a higher chance of enjoying

for me, one piece was good since episode one

BUT, there are some people that are weird and for them it gets good around 570

if you don't like one piece by episode 600, drop it, its just not for you.
