?
Boku no Hero Academia.
Honestly, i blame it on how toxic the fandom likes to be though.
Glad ive never used social media (outside Anilist anyway)
yea like my friends said they didnt even want to give it a chance just bcz they said the fanbase was too toxic, but the fanbase can actually be pretty cool sometimes like theres a reddit subreddit where ppl just post MHA memes and its super chill.
Yeah it took me three years to start it. Though my reasons were entirely different.
But once i finished, i tried getting my best friend to watch it. She was very adamant about
avoiding it thanks to how much her siblings kept hyping it. Took a lot to convince her. Luckily,
i finally managed it. And now i have a sneaking suspicion she loves it more than me.
Any popular hated mainstream animes tbh and Mushoku Tensei
mushoku tensei is being hated?
ye apparently, its being cancelled aswell
@GalileoJones
Cancelled in China, by the looks of it. Not cancelled for real, unfortunately.
Demon Slayer Kimetsu no Yaiba
yall really be acting as if this anime is the spawn of satan and anyone who enjoys it must be shot on sight
Lol. I've never seen anyone necessarilly "hating" on it.
Most of us - me included - just don't think its "incredible". Kinda overrated but still good enough to enjoy.
@ScionSilverbeat Nah bro I always am hearing something along the lines of:
"the plot is actually shit it just gets carried by its animation, all the characters are shit and annoying, Mid slayer..."
The Promised Neverland season 2 send tweet
Yakusoku no Neverland 2
well we hate it for a good reason
To paraphrase you : TPN2, idk why it gets hate like crazy, its just a show
Like, people can just chill ?? If you don't like it don't watch it
(for the record I know the reasons)
(Also sorry if I sound aggressive toward you, this is not my intention !)
Lol you don't have to sound so sorry about disagreeing with someone. Public criticism of shows isn't done because you don't want the people to enjoy it, or because not everyone disliking it somehow personally affects you, but in hopes that expressing your disdain for what a show has become will influence it in the future. That someone will be able to do something with your criticism. I don't agree with people try to take away other people's enjoyment of a show, but if something has apparent flaws like TPNV S2, it's best something is done so that the people who produced the show at least know they fucked up.
Lol social anxiety force me to be sorry x)
Most of the negative takes on the show weren't constructive at all, thus so far for the "letting the producers know", that's just being disrespectful. I agree that people should stand their opinion though, but without being insulting. (it's not aimed particularly toward you, but it's on the topic " Anime you think are hated way too much")
Additionally, saying the S2 is bad is objectively wrong.
Hmm, I agree with you mostly, but I think a more logical way to phrase "saying the S2 is bad is objectively wrong" is "saying the S2 is objectively bad is wrong". Opinions are subjective, but TPNV S2 is flawed and even if it wasn't; saying that an anime that is agreed to be great is "objectively not bad" is wrong, again because opinions are subjective.
yes, but have you read the manga?
Most of the hate comes from them axing some of the best arcs and characters of the series so..
It has been explicitly stated that the anime would be an original story, the realisation team don't owe us anything. Even if this version is bad (which is for everyone to decide for themselves if they like it or not), it's not like they took back every copy of the manga and burnt it. The OG, good story still exist so nothing to get mad about imo, nothing as been "ruined" like some people say.
I get that "the OG scenario is better than this one" but when an anime is bad we just don't watch it.
Fairy Tail gets way too much hate
Can you be more specific? As someone who likes to dunk on Fairy Tail I'm just curious. I feel that Fairy Tail is at best mediocre, and at worst just distilled stupidity. What exactly do you think makes the show undeserving of the criticism it receives?
hmm I'll try to explain it decently hahaha
I like Fairy Tail, but I know it's not objectively "good" in terms of plot and character development. however, I don't think Fairy Tail goes out of its way to pretend to be anything amazing - it's supposed to be a fun adventure with your friends (something that feels like hanging out with your friends I guess?) and it is
the magic is fun, the characters are cute, the music is pretty good and it might be repetitive but it doesn't pretend to be otherwise anyway
also despite the lack of development and the shit ton of fanservice, the characters aren't exactly,, badly written? the girls are actually not useless and they're likable enough, and the guys aren't that much different from a typical shonen protagonist
overall, I feel like it gets too much hate when a bunch of other shows are doing the same,,, and Fairy Tail is just one more of them but gets more hate than the rest hahah does that make sense?
it's a fun thing to watch when I just want to turn my brain of and enjoy anyway and I think that's a good thing in itself :D
Kimetsu no Yaiba
"Animation carried the show"
Boku no Hero Academia
Fandom
Naruto
The amount of naruto slander I see every day online is insane
And the nr 1:
Shingeki no Kyojin The Final Season
"MAPPA ruined s4"
And the same people like JJK which is carried by its animations hehe
While JJK's story isn't anything great, I think compared to Demon Slayer it's still an upgrade. And the characters are so much better in JJK as well. The power system is great too, while DS just has some elements that they put on their swords. To me learning about JJK's power system was actually pretty interesting. I can't really compare worldbuilding since DS had little and JJK has close to none so far. It's basically just Tokyo but with monsters. So overall I think JJK basically took what was good about DS and upgraded some other elements to support the fight focus better.
While i don't disagree that Demon Slayer is definitely to be consumed as an anime and JJK has a better power system i still prefer Demon Slayer way more.
First arcs of Jujutsu were okaay up till Gojo's Fight. Then obviously a big high but after that wasn't just my cup of tea. I really dislike Mahito as well.
But the main point would be probably the current Tokyo vs Kyoto arc.
Every episode a different pair fighting each other and telling their stories.
Then obviously a villain enters the stage and Gojo comes in to save everyone...
I did enjoy these in the past but now it's just watching something you could predict like 10 episodes prior and if you read the manga it doesn't get better tbh.
Yeah, aot hate is really dumb. The story is so good and enjoyable. I can agree the animation did went downhill but its not bad at all
Id say half of the hate is dumb and half of the hate makes sense. As someone who really enjoyed aot s1-3, I was severely disappointed with s4 because of how mappa executed it (and I'm also not really a fan of how the story was executed by the author, but thats just completely my opinion). I definitely think that the people who own and run mappa (not the animators or directors of s4) should be heavily criticized because (at least imo) s4's animation, overall visual look, and entertainment value took a massive decline due to how rushed the production for this season was. The people running mappa were obviously trying to make money off the season and didn't really care all that much about how the season was executed, and hey, it worked and right now they're competing for the #1 anime of all-time.
I agree that the writing is definitely good, I'm just not a fan of the execution of it (especially compared to the first 3 seasons), but these "fans" need to stop criticizing the show for the smallest nitpicks like how recently they didn't like how Eren putting on his coat looked. I mean like really? And hey, I personally think the animation for this season is terrible and lazy because of how rushed and underpaid the animators were (not their fault at all), but no one deserves death threats for how they handled a piece of entertainment that we are not entitled to. If people are gonna criticize the season, make actual proper criticisms and do it respectfully.
My god Darling in the Franxx is so undeserving of hate
I 100% agree with you on that. The ending of the anime could have been better but thats the only bad thing about the show.
Yep yep totally
I was legit scared to watch the last few episodes cause everyone said that the ending ruined the whole thing, but when I finished it I was just like ''Wait, THIS is what everyone was so mad about???''
Coulda been better, no doubt, but the rest of the show is just so good that it didn't even matter
I loved it until the end, but the ending was so god-awful. So atrocious, I don't believe I will ever be able to rewatch that show again knowing how it ends. I disagree with people who didn't like it from the beginning because it being so good initially is what made the ending so hard to watch. How could they ruin this so easily? The writing in the last 6 episodes was like that of a 2nd grader trying to wrap up the series in the coolest way they could think of. It was unbearably bad.
I dropped it early on because the narrative got boring for me, I don't hate on it personally. I think part of the disconnect between people's impressions of the show is due to how it retreads a lot of familiar ground for a lot of older anime fans, and does so in a way that seems less effective compared to its predecessors. Trigger is also pretty polarizing as a studio.

Anyone who hated the ending and didn't realise what this whole anime was about should take a long walk until they find out what they did wrong.
kny. i hate being the guy that's like "oh people just hate it because it's popular" but it really is the case w this one
The story actually has countless flaws but the animation is a masterpiece.
nobody is denying that -- nearly every story has flaws, but people dunk on kny for things they ignore or don't care about in other shounens
Also when Demon slayer was airing the fanbase treated it like a second coming of Jesus so of course fans of other series are gonna get annoyed because of it so "oh people just hate it because it's popular" was understandable. They were going around spamming "Best anime ever" and they were also bashing other shounen series like Boku no hero and Attack on titan.
These two, especially Another which is one of the best show I've seen, I don't get why this amount of hate
Another
DARLING in the FRANXX
People whining about the ending, for me that's the end that I have been waiting

I didn't watch it yet but I see so much hate ! I really wonder how bad can be, or that's just another hated mainstream
Sword Art Online
Well, DiTF anime should've ended like 3 times before this garbage disney end. Hopefully, I read the manga few days ago, I assure you, that's waaaaay better (and more logical, like, why tf they introduce a new "villain" 3 episodes before the show ends )?
The OST are really cool (Ending 5 just wow) but I can't stand this lack of scenario for the end.
This is an obvious pick but
Fairy Tail
Yes, I know it's not a perfect story, and yes, the final fell flat on its ass, but I feel like the good really outshines the bad. You have a great main cast, even some of the other guild members who don't get much limelight are great (i.e Freed and Alzack, my two favorites). It even has its fair share of really good arcs, that outshine the final bad arc, Tartaros, Tower of Heaven, Tenrou Island, Grand Magic Games.
It is mindlessly repetitive. It just recycles the same plot points, voice lines, cast archetypes, setting, world building, and themes from every other shounen property, and also copies directly from the author's past works. Within itself it is also mindlessly repetitive, with the same lines and quips being repeated as nauseum by the show's braindead cast. "I'm all fired up" is said a good 10 billion times. There are no interesting or groundbreaking ideas, it's just a soup of half-baked emotional shounen moments.
Please come back to me after you've watched it.

You're saying I have to watch all 175 episodes before having an opinion on it? You do realize that's ludicrously stupid, right? I watched more then enough to form an opinion on what I saw. You can claim the rest of the show is different or better, but I don't really care.
Well the fact that you're saying "Every arc is the same" and haven't watched the show is also incredibly stupid. You've seen one major arc out 175+ episodes so therefore you can't judge the arcs
edit: you also say that Mashima copies from his past works, yet you've seen none of his past works? Really just proves you just listen to what other people say and follow that.
Im sorry to say that even though @Mator hasnt completed the anime, their judgment is pretty accurate. Im saying that as someone who HAS finished and someone who DOES hold Fairytail dear to their heart. The anime does sadly like to get repetitive and character growth on a mental/emotional level is almost non-existent in FairyTail. There are the rare exceptions like The Grand Magic Games arc. But for the most part every arc follows the same format;
This is pretty much 90% of the anime. If a person
isnt enjoying it early on, then they really shouldnt
keep watching because FairyTail isnt one of those
anime that "gets better over time". However it is in
the beginning, it continues that way. In fact, many
would argue that it unfortunately gets worse.
Now as for Hiros other works, i havent read them myself
but its easy to see why anyone would assume Hiro
reuses his own characters amd ideas. He DOES
reuse them. Its bad enough that alot of his characters
look way too alike, but he uses ACTUAL characters
when doing it. Before FairyTail, Jellal and Plu were literally in Rave Master.
After FairyTail, Happy is now a main character in Edens Zero.
Some people might not care. But alot of us do. First of all, it
cant be that difficult to create new characters in the first place.
Second of all, reusing characters makes the original ones
lose their value if youre familiar with those works.
I think it's hilarious how you're complaining about a character having a catch phrase
Gave My Hero a 9.7/10 and complains about a character having a catchphrase is really funny, Deku is just "I'M GONNA BE THE NUMBER 1 HEROOOOOOOO cries like a baby!" 24/7
Crying isn't a catch phrase. Deku also doesn't repeatedly shout "I'm going to be the number 1 hero", though the narrative has returned to his decision to pursue this goal several times as it is central to Deku's character.
A large part of the reason why I rate MHA so highly is because of the sociopolitical commentary which Horikoshi has set up throughout the story which is critical of meritocratic society and social economy. There are other elements too, I think it demonstrates a technical mastery of leitmotif, has solid animation, and interesting character designs. The lack of filler is also a big plus.
I'm trying to think of a single situation in which I saw a dialogue catch phrase used in a piece of media in a way that was constructive or valuable, and I'm honestly having trouble thinking of one. I wouldn't necessarily argue that catch phrases are always bad, but I certainly didn't like Natsu's catchphrase in Fairy Tail. My experience was that it was incredibly obnoxious.
