First of all i would like to clarify that i myself admired the first 3 or 4 episodes of Horimiya series.
It was a great anime in my point of view back then and i would rate it 9/10 easily. However, the way this anime is developing was so fast, and by that i mean the hurry beautiful ending of two young couples. It was great to show that Miyamura had another secret look outside of school which makes him cooler, but i think that revealing his ears secret was too fast.
Also the way Hori and Miyamura ended up all their problems was too fast, there should have been a slower way of developing their relationship, and that was NOT by letting him visiting her everyday!!
A part of all of that, now we have a very big group of people with a lot of complicated feelings and relationships.
Like how are you supposed to focus on each relationship which always includes a third person within 13 episodes only!!
In the end, i think this anime could have been one of the best romance animes of all time, but the road that it’s taking right now is confusing for me.
What do you think about that guys, do you think that the developing of Hori and Miyamura’s relationship was too fast, lacks arguments and problems too?
Horimiya is not like a typical romance, its full of time jumps and things like that but keep in mind that the relationship in terms of the shows develops over a longer period of time then it may seem. In my opinion the way its developing is making it pan out to be a "must watch" on the level of like toradora and such, Its unique and interesting with a neat little premise and its a good break from the shows with no action throughout the whole story with a "i love you" at the end.
i think its a good show to turn your brain off and enjoy watching a cute couple because you yourself have never experienced anything near love.. (me rn) in this sense its a braindead show but its fine. the thing i dislike about the anime is that the pacing is horrible. there is no cohesion. things happen out of the blue. know why? because they TOOK OUT parts of the manga and left some behind. they didnt do anything to tie everything up neatly for the anime adaptation. sadge really because the manga is fire.
I'll be honest man, stick to 2d girls the real ones aint shit
yeah fuck 3d girls all of em are thots
all we can do now is just wait for a childhood friend we dont remember to barge into our lives and declare themselves our finances
I love it when girls barge into my house to announce themselves to be my matters regarding the management, creation, and study of money and investments.[1] Specifically, it deals with the questions of how and why an individual, company or government acquire the money needed – called capital in the company context – and how they spend or invest that money.[2] Finance is then often split into the following major categories: corporate finance, personal finance and public finance.[1]

I agree mostly because the anime is missing a lot of moments from the manga like alot. So I wonder what aim it is that they are planning for toward the end because I heard they are ending the manga in the next month. But they might only be planning to have one season. idk. I still like the show though
IIRC they are only going to finish it in one season. if that is true, then they are making a 12-episode show out of a 120-chapter manga. its really unfortunate because if they had tried to make it a 2-cour show I'm sure most of the manga material can be utilized much better. Iura, Yanagi, Remi, Sakura, and the other supporting cast such as Iura's sister and Sawaka will unfortunately be very shallow in the anime and not as fleshed out. its sad but i guess just read the manga and drop the anime kek
I enjoy stories about people trying to come to terms with their emotions and muster up the courage to ask the other person out over the course of a whole ass year, but not every love story has to follow that pattern. Their relationship developed a little quick, sure I can agree with that, but I'm kind of enjoying seeing Hori and Miyamura develop further than most shows wind up going. I don't think the show is as much as them getting together and then rolling credits, as it is a more realistic representation of how things go before, during, and after the whole confession thing. The problems going forward from here are the kinds that shows like this usually never get to because they spend so long lingering on the "will they won't they" so much that they never get to move past that, or don't without it just being a continuation for the sake of continuing a successful series.
I agree with your main point which concerns the pacing problems but the arguments you gave were eh?
"Also the way Hori and Miyamura ended up all their problems was too fast, there should have been a slower way of developing their relationship, and that was NOT by letting him visiting her everyday!!"
First of all the plot is predetermined by the manga. Even then, I don't think him visiting every day was a pacing issue. They ended all their problems way too fast? So are we not gonna talk about Miyamura's obvious issue with himself and Hori's obvious anger issues? Miyamura never actually shared his past with Hori she doesn't know about his middle school life. Are they going to resolve that? Hori is somewhat self-conscious which is the reason for her anger issues and why no one knows her real personality. Is she ever going to developed any self-confidence to show her friends who she really is? there is so much potential there because there is still so much more to be explored. if anything there isn't enough development yet. from a pure plot perspective, their development so far isn't the reason why the pacing is so of. In my opinion, the main issue apart from the pacing is that we don't get the reasons for a lot of plot points. They just happen but we don't really know why. Just saying that it's because they share their secret sides with each other isn't enough. There is more to be seen there if they had shown that to us, which brings up my next point: Show don't tell. Though the anime is visually pleasing, it doesn't demonstrate to us very well how the unique aspect of their relationship makes them fall in love. Instead, a lot of stuff is told flat out. This can come across as "too fast" but I would rather describe it as shallow.
SPOILER AHEAD
However, if anyone here read the manga you would already know that the plot is just sad as none of those points I just brought will be explored. And I thus I must agree, yes, unless the anime changes its course and takes a different path from the manga, this show is doomed.
maybe I should write a review lol
as far as i can see, it lacks an actual set-up, the twist was rather blindly put here and that which makes it sort of rushed. the main focus was pretty much appointed for miyamura and hori for like 90% of the time, i assume? which gives less room for other character developments since this is not a series adapted from a short-manga (e.g 1-2vol type of stuff). needless to say i was dissapointed after going through episode 2 tbh, no strong soundtracks coming in to set-up a flow of enjoyment, so far that is my issue, lucky for me this series aint predictable as fuck as i would thought.
p.s. = man it'd be better if they focused other characters like in kaguya-sama. amirite?
