Episode 8 is a recap. More than likely because of production issues...

  Both Funimation and the Japanese twitter account list the recap as episode 8

Don't know about you guys, but Wakanim told me that the eighth episode will come on the ninth.

  they probably skip this episode because it's a recap but it's a real numbered episode 8th so next week episode 9th will be released

  Yeah, recap episodes are usually labelled as .5 or ‘specials’

i didn't notice before so, was this season originally listed for 11 eps or 12 eps? what i am asking is did the ep count increase due to 1 recap? (as it should because the recap is labelled 8th)

  Other commenter is wrong, it was labeled as 12 before. It appears pretty clear that this was an unplanned recap so it is still unclear what will happen, the last episode may have to be released online, or a month later like Madoka did back in its day. Worst-case scenario, is they try to fit what they had planned for five episodes into four, which may cause pacing issues...

No offence to Cloverworks, two of their three Winter shows have been great. But they really took on too much work here

12 episode feels too short for this series and now 1 episode reserved for recap, hopefully the ending or resolution for each character won't be rushed.

  Highly unlikely but it would be great if next week’s episode is double-length.

  There's a higher chance of the sun freezing over than an overworked studio putting out a double-length episode. It was delayed because they couldn't even meet the deadline for regular length.

Honestly even though it was a recap I still enjoyed the episode and I'm sure it's helpful for a lot of viewers who were still confused.

  Can confirm. This cleared it up for me. I'm a bit disappointed that its just a recap, but at least I get it all now

Its decently made for a recap episode but it still is a shame that it had to be made instead of a normal episode this week. I just love this show too much that its sad to see it have to delay its story progression.

Anyone kinda thought episode 8 was a bit weird. Idk I still sat through all of it but it just gave me weird vibes. I have never seen an anime show before where they gave a WHOLE EPISODE as a recap one?? I thought that happens in the beginning and then the new stuff starts. But it was the WHOLE EPISODE. It was pretty nice tbh but we kinda saw this info like an episode ago yk. So I thought the recap was useless in a way but not.

Fave scene: Didn't really have one because this was a recap. But probably when one of the girls was talking about how they needed their dad now.

Series so far?: It's AMaZiNg! I think not a lot of shows accept for given reflect on suicide. And how they react to it. But I like how they have the opportunity to bring them back when they fight. So adding action, sadness, friendship, and how the character reflects and grows

What do I expect to happen next: Sadly not much. I don't think they're even going to free their friend before the series ends because we only have 4 episodes left. So probably the girls who didn't deal with the grief went crazy and suicidal and started taking these pills where they could free their friends if they beat these monsters. Like a fake virtual world there trapped in to deal with the grief before it kills them. I think this because how does a little girl own a HUGE company but has no parents. kinda sketch
