What happened to it? It used to show up on Anilist and it seems like the page was removed. Sorry if it isn't appropriate to make a thread over it I didn't know where else to ask.

The entry was removed because it doesn't respect our Database Criteria (that you can read here).
In short, to be eligible for our Database there has to be sufficient creative control from the Japanese side but this is not the case for Yasuke, where all the key players are western people.

  There's a whole of two westerners working on the project one of which is the composer for the soundtrack, how is that "all key players"?
  The character designer has been known to be Takeshi Koike for a while now and none of the staff revealed today is foreign either except for one Korean.
  
  Satoshi Iwataki is the chief animation director, and Takeru Satō is the chief technical director. Kenichi Shima is in charge of sub-character designs, and Minoru Nishida is in charge of world art design and art setting. Junichi Higashi directing the art, Yuki Nomoto is the 3D CG director, and Hyo Gyu Park is the compositing director of photography. Azusa Sasaki is the color key artist, and Mutsumi Takemiya is editing.

  I'm quite confused too, tbh lol. Just because LeSean Thomas is creator/director and Steven Ellison (Flying Lotus) is the composer/producer?
  
  So it could be the other way around? All western staff and if the director and exec producer are Japanese it can be on here?

  The database rules are based on nationality, not race, I believe.
  
  (Edit: but since Japan is a very homogeneous nation, it basically amounts to race, lol.)

  Lmao two Americans work on something then suddenly it's not eligible for Anilist. This makes no fucking sense given that Cannon Busters is on the site, when it's staff list on AL is predominantly foreign

  When the majority of the staff is Japanese? The actual animators, storyboarders, writers, etc? And whole studio? And then we still have shows like Cannon Busters on the site? There’s gotta be a better reason at least.

  As already commented in thread, the 'key players' are clearly not at all geared towards western. So I would suggest taking actual feedback & loosening the 'criteria' to better fit community. Thanks!

Due to the announcement 2 days ago revealing additional staff that had not yet been revealed, Yasuke is now eligible to be on AniList with the previously stated criteria.
