You can fanboy, I’m here to listen.
Toilet bound handle kun is my favorite manga for many reasons. The first being the art style. I’m in love with it honesty, the second being the writing and the characters themselves. The third being because I like how it’s supernatural, comedic yet gothic and gets very dark at times.
Banana fish is one of my favorite anime’s because of the writing. Never have I actually watched a show where I was so sucked in and got attached to the characters. Then being sad when they kill off characters who were your favorite person. I like how it dealt with certain themes. I also believe that at most it’s shounen ai not yaoi but that’s a convo for another time
That’s the end of my little fan girl moment
I like Chainsaw Man cause' it has blood, gore, boobs, its disgusting, and funny scenes. I like Denji cause he just likes boobs, and my favorite fiend is Violence Fiend because he reminds me of hotline miami, I like his design, formal but then he has a hood and cool mask. And the only character I can actually like with decent enough reasons and without them being a comfort chaaccters, Toji fro m JJK
Ah I have so many favs!! But I think if I were FORCED to pick one, it would probably be between Banana Fish and TBHK
To start, I just love the creativity and originality of these animes. For banana fish, I loved how the characters were introduced, how every one of them was given a role in the anime and not just random side characters 'that will prob die later on in the story'. It has it's dark themes, it's humour, it's friendship/love, a bit of each which kind of sucks you in. And I think the ending was super effective, leaving you satisfied even when it hurt.
The same can be said to tbhk, which it's art style is what drew me in first. But the plot is what I have come to adore the most, the mysteries still unsolved, making you crave more episodes and leaves you with more questions than answers. But at the same time, you are still indulged despite it being frustrating. And again, all the characters serve a purpose, which makes it hard for you to have a favourite because they all seem like main characters, at least to me.
Glad to see that someone else also shares the same choices as me!! :D
Listen I realize I've only read one manga and this isn't exactly an original take, but Shingeki no Kyojin is my favorite story across any medium. I've been reading it religiously for about four years, and sweet mother teresa on the hood of a mercedes benz that storytelling is on another level. Every single person I know that has watched it (which is a lot because I'm pushy) has caved and read the manga because they just couldn't wait any longer. There's so many twists and they never feel out of place or cheap; Isayama is amazing at hiding all of the answers in plain sight while still leaving you completely in the dark. Eleven years of weaving this intricate web of mysteries and thus far he hasn't dropped a single thread. The world he builds is so three dimensional, and to top it all off the character development is phenomenal too. I'm beyond excited for Friday.
Ascendence of a bookworm is my favorite anime because of the small things that make the world and everything in it so good. The attention to detail is so perfect it's unnecessary for an anime like that but the author did it anyway.
And don't get me started on the characters. I get orgasms just by listening to their dialogues. It's so fun seeing them banter and interact with each other.
The writing is so excellent, the world-building and pacing are just perfect. Everything connects to each other, expositions make sense and also very entertaining.
Overall Everything about it is great (I guess animation and art style are somewhat average, but I don't really care about them). But especially the characters, they're just...
So yeah that's me fangirling over a fictional world
Okay, I know Tokyo ghoul root A gets a lot of hate, but I loved it so much.
Other than being biased since it was the first thing that got me into anime, I loved the way kaneki was shown as a beautifully flawed individual that was using utilitarian means to satisfy more personal, less rational desires, which lead to him go down a completely separate path of insanity that takes him away from his irrationality.
As user RaveAnt once said
"The show presents a multitude of side character arcs to compliment Kaneki's story, but at its core, is primarily about the naive conceit within Kaneki. The side character arcs are these tight short narratives that establish clear ideologies, and motives for a variety of ghouls and humans belonging to different factions. These stories are juxtaposed against the ambiguous, and confused narrative of Kaneki Ken in order to enhance his state of moral quandary, as someone stuck in between all the various ideologies and factions."
It was also the first and only anime that made me cry, and as an anime-only watcher, I rate it based on the anime and not compare it to the manga.
Nura Rise of the Yokai Clan Nura Rise of the Yokai Clan Demon Capital
Back in late 2011, when I was still in Highschool, I was a huge Narutard. I still love Naruto, and for the longest time, Naruto has shared the trophy with Nura for the number 1 spot on my Top 31 favorite anime list. But now Naruto has been demoted to unlucky 13. Nura, on the other hand, still holds it's spot as number 1. The first season had my interest, but the second season, Demon Capital, is what solidified Nura as being my favorite anime franchise of all time. Even after expanding my horizon, and watching more and more anime franchises and different genres, Nura has never stopped being my absolute favorite. In Demon Capital, the music, the fight scenes, the folklore, the plot, the characters, the relationship between Rikuo and Tsurara, the twists at the end, Rikuo's humility and character development, the villains, the different kinds of "Fear", I love it all. Episodes 4 and 5 in Demon Capital are by far my favorite. (despite the fact that Rikuo isn't in those. His Grandfather instead) But I also favor Episodes 17 and 18. Overall, I love the entre series. I can go on and on about this, but I'm afraid of the expiration.
This review of K-ON will give you enough reason as to why it is my favorite anime.
Well, just read the overall statement
NGE: complex, philosophical and at times confusing, but still making sense in the end. Practically that, what got me into watching anime in February again (and more importantly, the more complex anime).
EoE: That was an experience.. That movie was really fucked up and confusing, but that's why I love it.
S;G + 0: They are both one story, that's why I put them together here. It was just a good story with great twists.
Perfect Blue and Paranoia Agent: Both by Satoshi Kon, an absolute legend. Complicated too, I just love both of them for the artistic value and the creepy parts. Meeting Shonen Bat surely would be fun.
Serial Experiments Lain: Interesting watch, but got far better after I've seen an explanation of it.
Chainsaw Man: My first manga. Chainsaw go vroooom
Shuumatsu No Valkyrie: Great and well thought out fights
Oyasumi Punpun: Good storywriting, atmosphere, character development, characters.. And a bit more.
Enough
Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo
Well-written drama grounded in the characters, very solid jokes, and themes that really spoke to me when I originally watched it. I really appreciate how it showcases that just having talent alone doesn't necessarily make life easy, and brings its own slew of problems. Also, the EDs are pretty poppin, which is always a plus.
Kaguyasama wa Kokurasetai Tensaitachi no Renai Zunousen
It could have been content with just being a hilarious comedy manga with a memorable cast, but it has allowed it evolved into so much more. I've noticed that a lot of other rom-coms either being a romance or a comedy first, will often through the other aspect under the bus to benefit the other. I think this one of those stories that have really found that balance, and allows both to flourish without hindering the other.
Anime:
Berserk
Everything from the voice acting, to the ost, to the atmosphere is perfect. Obviously the story and characters are S tier. An absolute masterpiece.
JoJo no Kimyou na Bouken
(This includes all animated parts) I love the unique style and feel that Jojo provides. I've never watched anything else like it and I doubt I ever will; it's truly a one of a kind series. The characters and group antics never fail to make me smile or laugh.
KON
My #1 feel good anime series. The characters are all too lovable, and the laid back nature of the show makes it a super easy watch. I'm not sure I like any group of anime characters more than I love the K-On gang.
Manga:
Berserk
I don't need to go into too much detail. It's the number 1 rated manga on AniList for a reason. The art, the story, the characters, the atmosphere it provides are all incredible.
Oyasumi Punpun
While berserk is my favorite manga, Punpun is objectively the best manga I've ever read. Never has a story impacted me in the way that Punpun did. It's so incredibly raw and unnerving, I genuinely can't compare it to anything I've ever read before. Not for the faint of heart at all - easily the most depressing thing I've read in my life.
Hellsing and anything to do with the franchise (ultimate abridged on youtube is also legendary.
Why you may ask?
Let's go through them in order
The characters on both sides regardless of how long they are onscreen manage to be memorable something other anime since that i have seen with one exception have not been able to do
The action scenes are majestic and super fluent (in ultimate more so than og hellsing but either way still good)
3.They are fighting vampire Nazis (you heard that right eat your heart out wolfenstien)
Overall this show just kicks ass.
Modao Zushi changed my life and i will always be grateful for expanding my little world and getting me involved with the chinese culture i never knew i loved

looks interesting ima check it out
The anime is pretty cool and it is based on a novel of the same title. There is also a drama called the Untamed for the same story.
Just to let you know, the novel is a full on BL, but the anime and the drama are not (that is if the change from married to "soulmates that don't fuck officially" counts). But even if you are not into that stuff, just ignore the source material, cause the story and characters are just
Hunter x Hunter 2011
The plot, characters, and opening were all good. Another thing I about this is seeing everybody character development and tactical fights.
JoJos Bizarre Adventure
Jojo is so unique, the plot and characters are too. I can barely find any common cliches in here, and the art style and location of JoJo are interesting.
https://anilist.co/anime/4087/Michiko--Hatchin//
This is set in Brazil, where most animes aren’t set. It features a diverse cast, and Michiko is such a likable character too.
Golden Kamuy
The plot is just so unexpected, and the characters and the hardships they go through are bizzare. Another thing is the comedy, this comedy is too tier.
Underrated favorite anime is
Kono Oto Tomare
Grand Blue
funny
Code Geass Hangyaku no Lelouch R2
the cast, the writing and the ending
Utsuro no Hako to Zero no Maria
writing is too complex and very enjoyable
Vinland Saga
development, art, characters and story
The character interactions and the comedy are gold.

A great psychological read that encaptures a declining mental state perfectly
Goodnight Punpun
