What did you think of the episode?
Nagatoro piss off more in anime than manga.
Well i still hate Nagatoro (the character) because for what she is doing that is bullying, I'm not going to spoiler the justification given to Nagatoro for doing that though.
Joro-kun being a pussy.
Uesaka Sumire perfect like Nagatoro. The opening was good throught visuals and that.
Good first episode!
fully expecting people to not like Nagatoro here in the beginning. Which is understandable, in the beginning is when she's at her worst. But what i want to say to everyone, she gets much better overtime. And shes great
I'll chime in on this:
When I started the manga, I really didn't like Nagatoro, and I was frustrated with MC. It brought back some unpleasant memories. Still, I stuck with it, and I'm glad I did, because I now really enjoy it. The character development for the two mains is excellent, and the series consistently improves upon itself.
Based on the first episode, I imagine they'll continue to stay true to the progression of the manga going forward. Those who stick with it are likely to enjoy where it goes.
I got through the first episode definitely feeling that side of it. Of course even in this they do drop some interesting pauses and moments that make her feel more interesting than I expected. Would like to think even at this point that she took some interest for more reasons than he's just an easy mark. That she saw something in his art/story that intrigued her.
But who knows, could be reading way too much into nothing. If she's going to get a lot better over time then I'm certainly willing to stick with it until we get there.
I am very pleased overall with the first episode. More so than I expected to be as I wasn't familiar with the studio or director.
The coloring is actually really well done, important scenes are well animated. Other than feeling like I didn't get a few of the panels I was hoping for or that they weren't as great as I wanted them to be I have no issues with the first episode outside of an anime-only switch to a more cartoonish slapstick towards the end when the manga is strongly grounded outside of comedy panels.
music amplifies the intensity of the attacks without overshadowing them.
Both voice actors really knocked it out of the park as well.
From the preview it looks like we might have a chapter skip.
i hate it, i dropped it. the scenery was just beautiful but i hate nagatoro
in the beginning is when she's at her worst. But what i want to say to everyone, she gets much better overtime
its a 12 episode anime, idk if she'll be better, ill just watch the last ep when it comes out to be sure
since you quoted my reply, ill make it more clear.
Itll be like 2 episodes and you'll start liking her. From the preview as ImoutoHeadpat said, were probably getting a chapter skip. Which im honestly ok with since the beginning chapters are very much filler and dont have alot to them. So it seems like they're focused on progression here, which is why i say shes going to get better overtime.
If you still dont want to continue it, thats fine. But trust me it wont be taking 12 episodes for her to develop into someone more likable
Idk about this, romanticizing bullying is not my thing.
He can enjoy it as it's appreciated by anyone, but I still don't like the concept at all.
I liked other characters who mess with MC in other animes but there's a big gap between messing with someone and bullying them.
The production was really HQ, I feel they could've adapted something better with that direction and team, sadge.
Understandable. But they really do get better as time goes on.
Yeah, from what one can see Senpai seems to enjoy this and Nagatoro knows it so she keeps bullying him, but I think just messing with him would've been better, I suffered a worse type of bullying from school to highschool so it was difficult for me to watch it, but if it changes to something light and more friendly I'll watch it.
I going to enjoy this series just as much as the manga. It's actually quite refreshing seeing them adapt it not frame for frame so it allows a manga reader to experience their world with rejuvenated eyes. I enjoy the layout of certain scenes to include more innuendo than before.
I'm a little disappointed in seeing how this studio doesn't seem to have the largest portfolio of work, and this is reflected in quality for sure. The odd 3D model bust in the background of the art club are really off-putting. What I assume is the OP at the end of this first episode is just a compilation of shots from episodes, which is kinda lazy. And perhaps its the resolution but some of the lines just look jagged.
People complaining about the bullying tho? I'd recommend not dropping because Senpai mans up rather quickly, and if anything she seems more brutal in the manga. And honestly seeing Senpai grow some stones is a good thing.
