New to anime

Was looking for some websites to keep track of anime (so I wouldn't have to use a notepad app) when I start watching anime and stumbled upon this. It has a nice UI so I'm sticking with this one, I'd appreciate it if I'd get some good first animes to start off with. :)

  I mean, let's be honest - SAO is actually a pretty damn good anime for starters. If he/she enjoys fantasy theme, it will be pretty good.

  Yeah, SAO was like 10th anime for me and I literally labeled it as #1 anime ever and gave 10/10. Good old times when I knew nothing xD

  Am I the only one who thinks SAO isn't a good starter anime? I watched the first season of SAO in 2018 and I thought every anime was of the same quality so I didn't try out more animes because of the bad taste SAO left in my mouth

  ^^ sao was my second anime and i liked it a lot, i do recommend starting with this. once you watch too many you won't be able to enjoy these kinds of shows. i would leave the more serious/heavy stories for later and give sao a try. when you watch this first it's a blast :)

  I really don't think so. It's episodic which is already an issue by itself but it's also relatively slow.

91 Days

A man goes on an island to rethink about life where he meets the nice villagers and an exuberant kid named Naru. A beautiful Slice of Life.

Barakamon

Another boy seeking revenge. But really, this summary does not make justice to this masterpiece, just watch it. It's amazing.

VINLAND SAGA

A boy going on various adventures with a kid to get back his body that was fed to the demons.

Dororo

A man in his late twenties go back in time to save his classmates from being killed.

ERASED

A future dystopia in which Japan depends on the Sybil system that evaluates human behaviour.

PSYCHOPASS

A boy put together a group with which he shares his passion for running. Again, this summary does not make justice to the anime.

Run with the Wind

A girl 'force' two men on a long and adventurous journey to find the 'samurai that smells of sunflowers'. Trough such journey they will meet every kind of people.

Samurai Champloo

An oldest brother made into the babysitter of his younger brother's nursery school. Wholesome anime.

Well it depends on what genres you prefer but I think Haikyuu would be a good choice:

I for one don't have much interest in volleyball but this anime was a blast to watch. I think anyone can get into it.

one punch man (s2 is a bit iffy but it should be fine)
my hero academia (very much kids in school but pretty action based)
demon slayer (straight forward plot with nice execution and animation)
death note (big brain time, might wait a little on this one but once you feel like it go for it)

It's a common starter and it is for a reason. It's awesome and anyone can enjoy it.

If you're up for something lengthy:
Naruto & Naruto Shippuden

Or I could even recommend this very recent but awesome anime:

This also has some of the best animation you'll find, so it's definitely a strong start.

well i started out with death note, sword art online, blue exorcist and the first season of attack on titian. Then I didn't watch any for 6yrs lol so I couldn't really give you any new stuff? apart from Food Wars which is v good if you don't mind over the top fan service

The Promised Neverland

-12 episodes

~3 kids find out a deep, dark secret about the outside world that they are forbidden from seeing.

-37 episodes but I should have stopped after the 25 episodes. You can watch them though.

~Justin Beiber wannabe w/ a God complex finds a notebook that he can use to kill people.

Death Parade

-12 episodes

~Each episode contains two guests in the underworld that have to play a game in order to determine if they go to "heaven" or "hell". YOU HAVE TO WATCH THIS!

Wotakoi Love is Hard for Otaku

~Adult romance in the workplace. (Haven't watched it yet but I heard its funny)

this was my first anime, despite its age it’s still brilliant, especially as a first (or one of the first) anime you watch, because it showcases what anime can be outside of just the fantasy/adventure genre (not that there’s anything wrong with those genres, it’s just nice to get a piece of everything)
