Unsettling Feel

I'm 4 episodes in, but I still feel unsettled with this kind of animation and visual art style, same thing I felt while watching Nisekoi which caused me to drop it halfway through the first season.

Am I the only one who feels like this?

Edit: so yeah I thought I'm the only, guess everyone felt the same way, maybe I'll get used to it.

Edit 2: I've got used to it and I like it now, I've watched Bake and Kizu and currently watching Nise.

Unsettled? I don't think I've ever been unsettled at Shaft animation unless it's intentional.

No, you're not the only one, my dude. I felt the same way at first, but I got used it alongside any uniqueness by SHAFT at this point already. SHAFT is known for their creative animations and the head tilts. The Monogatari series and Madoka Magica are one of their best works.

I love the style of animation I think the characters have a red outline or something which is what makes it a little different.

well yeah, rather than unsettling the art had a different type of vibe, but I got used to it though

That's kinda the point of the show, besides the odd artstyle is something like a trademark of studio shaft

I get what you mean. Personally I found it interesting but it's a staple of the show and if it makes you feel uneasy you shouldn't feel forced to stick with it.

You should watch the movies first as they are direct prequels to Bake. I did that and Bake was great

  I don't regret watching them first. I don't think I would love Bakemonogatari as much as I do without watching the movies first

  Ehhh that's really not a good way to view them. Kizu after Bake? Sure. But as a starter? No. Glad you still liked the series though.

  Maybe I'm biased now but it's hard for me to imagine watching Kizu after Bake. I remember being so happy about seeing the characters' further story. I'd actually like to hear what other people felt about the movies after watching Bake

Really? Personally, I loved the nostalgic and liminal look and feel of the Monogatari Series. It's one of the biggest reasons I love the series.

I don't remember if I liked it at first though so maybe I was in the same boat as you once.

bakemonogatari's cinematography is really weird and distracting at the first time, but i got used to it very quickly, after like second episode.

the only thing which felt kinda unsettling for me was kanbaru arc
