Edit: Alot of people are saying that this is good are doing it for the memes which is fine but the others that are seriously trying to justify it arguing that its a good anime that has any redeemable qualities get help pls.

  There's also murder, genocide, slavery, torture, political corruption, drug-trafficking, gas-lighting, xenophobia, addiction and brainwashing along with the rape. Although yeah, rape bad, twitter tell me so, shouty shout, ignore core story elements in order to fit my narrative, angery anger.

  In my opinion, how the dark atmosphere is shown in this anime is spot on.
  It gave me shiver, especially Blade's scene.
  
  However, I do not find the story the best aspect here. It's not the revenge bit (since that's the main point of the show), it's more towards how overpowered the main character is and how the story seems rushed, as in the story could've been made longer with a better storyline and not having the main character handling the antagonists with minimal effort because of the power he possesses. I have read the manga, I guess they can't do much about it since it's based on that.
  
  It's not my cup of tea, but removing my preferences aside, this is actually one of those anime that makes me uncomfortable from the horror standpoint and I can't deny it, well-played mate. I rated it low, it might change because I rated it biasedly. I still need to give this anime some more thoughts on the story overall and what message they're conveying.
  This is just me when watching anime, I do enjoy myself finding small details, character backgrounds and symbolisms to help me understand the story and to find out the reason about major actions the characters make. Then when I finally make up my mind I change my rating, so bear with me.
