For example, I personally think Evangelion and FMA are masterpieces(common opinion), but their fanbases can be so annoying dude... Like, try criticizing any small detail about any of them, and watch as your IQ is questioned by inumerous fanboys through hours in a forum thread lol
Easy: My Hero Academia and Attack on Titan.
r/titanfolk is so crazy rn, which is exactly why im in that subreddit
I hate titanfolk, i loved the memes, but now its just toxicity(the memes are not even funny anymore)
I dont even want to think about r/yeagerbomb.
yeagerbomb and okbuddyreiner make me wanna delete every social media acc I have
Maybe im flaming titanfolk to much they just show their disappointent in very extrem way i guess, but at least they try to laugh at it.
But yeagarbomb is just straight up disgusting. 100% most of them never paid 1 single dollar for a manga volume and they try to harass isayamas assistant on twitter.
exactly. one of them wanted to kill isayamas assistant irl and I was like ayyo whatttt
titanfolk is just memeing the story which im fine with but death threats are way too far just because the ending wasnt as great as they expected
AOT and Fate
why fate?
From what've seen, they beg you to watch it over and over to the point its annoying.
@ambeddo
at the end of the day, no one watches it. And the ones who do watch it don't take the order seriously or even try to understand it. Like just watch fate/zero and be done with it, why bother asking people.
Also since the fate route isn't animated the fanbase will continue to fight over orders.
My Hero Academia, easily one of the most perverted fanbases that I know of, Evangelion and AOT fans can be super annoying and toxic, and JoJo fans try to make the simplest thing somehow related to JoJo.
Hunter x Hunter
Fate franchise
Monogatari
JoJo
Monogatari? They seem pretty chill to me
sure I have some friends that are also monogatari fans but we've come to know a lot of toxic fans that really pretty much remind us why we don't like to interact with fanbases at all
what do you mean ?
Classic overrating of the show to the point of elitism, extremely uncomfortable convos in which they were explaining how they would spend a night with the 13 year olds of the series, dull and repetitive jokes, "my opinion > your opinion" arguments, etc.
oh i see. I started the monogatari franchise recently and it's pretty interesting so far. But even then I could see people who like to exaggerate about this series
Attack on Titan
Demon Slayer Kimetsu no Yaiba
JUJUTSU KAISEN
The Promised Neverland
I haven't watched My Hero yet, so it can't be here.
Of course, more popular shows are gonna have more toxic people in the fandoms than other shows, but they always make up a loud minority. That's why people always say AOT and MHA, literally the two most popular anime ever, when referring to toxic fandoms. Toxic people exist everywhere, so it just happens that the shows with more watchers have more toxic people watching as well.
Bro i know where you are coming from, but My Hero fans have the most disgusting ships ever.
Attack on Titan fans send Death threads to a animator on twitter because they didnt use "Youseebiggirl" as the Ost in Season 4 Ep 5 ( i think it was this ep).
Yes but those people just represent loud minorities; obviously, there are much more normal people. Also, it's not because of the shows themselves that some people in their fandoms are like that, it's simply because they're popular; the shows with "bad" fandoms don't attract bad people, more people just happen to watch them.
Hunter x Hunter 2011
HxH fans overanalyze everything. The show is just fine without making up stuff. I think it's the fault of Aleczandxr and his analysis videos.
Monster
Some think that liking Monster makes you smart. The phrase "Watch Monster, the better Death Note" makes me shiver.
hunter x hunter
cant argue with these people, honestly worse than the one piece people with the whole "their anime is the best ever" shit
i love seeing 2 people fight over which 15 year old is the hottest, funniest shit i've seen in this fandom
My Hero Academia
i mean, this should speak for itself
Attack on Titan
don't get me wrong, this show is fucking good, but will the fandom please stop treating it like it's the best show ever made
Code Geass Lelouch of the Rebellion
also, this shit stain fandom that tries to make everything about this series
JoJos Bizarre Adventure TV
I'll stop treating Code Geass like the best show ever made when it stops being the best show ever made lol (it is good though)
yeah it's hella fuckin good but i just wish people can recognize it's not the pinnacle of everything a story should be
I watched a lot of highly acclaimed animes in a similar manner that are praised for their great endings but nothing has come close to how good Code Geass ending was. Maybe Attack on Titan will.
I haven't seen Code Geass yet but if I had to choose the best ending to an anime I've seen it would probably be either the ending of Death Note or the final scene of Steins;Gate 0 (mostly because the amount of emotion it brought me)
Steins;Gate has a really good ending. Imagine watching the OG series up to Episode 22, then Episode 23 Beta and into Steins;Gate 0 to finish off with the OG ending. That would so much more earned but it was still very good while watching it alone, without 0.
Death Note's ending made me not want to ever rewatch that series ever again, and I love rewatching my favourite series. But Death Note's last arc already felt super cheap, it undermined everything that was set up in the prior 25 or so episodes and was super predictable given the amount of bullshit they pulled to get to the point where that ending could take place.
Code Geass and Death Note were always closely compared due to their premise and both airing in 2006. "Teenager gets a supernatural power and uses it in an attempt to change the world". The one key difference being is that Code Geass landed its ending perfectly while Death Note stumbled and fell down the stairs. The world building and character interactions in Code Geass are also far superior. There are multiple key characters of almost equal importance to the story as the main character unlike in Death Note that especially towards the end became just a one man show. Ironically, it was Code Geass where everything went according to keikaku.
My Hero Academia - My favourite show, fandom is really bad though, they harass the creator and send him death threats, which is just horrible, he doesn't deserve that. But a lot of the people I know who like My Hero Academia are nice and sweet.
And honestly sometimes the whole anime fandom can be toxic, just because you don't like an anime they like, or don't give something a score they agree with.
