After Kenou's team winning, I had some hopes this entire thing would end up in a draw. But the last two matches were embarrassing for class 1B to say the least, with 0 captures. None of them showed any amazing quirks or skills that are somewhat comparable to Bakugou and Deku. The only noticable people of class 1B who did something useful were: Tetsutetsu, Kuroiro (shadow dude), Komori (scary mushroom girl) and maybe Kendou with her plan.
I also expected entertaining interactions between Monoma and Deku, but that amounted to nothing. Just like his speech at the end of episode 11 only caused a soft scratch on Deku's face with zero follow up.
It became once again the big Bakugou and Deku show (which isn't surprising of course), but I hoped for a little more development for the side (side) cast and them actually offering what resistance against our protagonists. At least Uraraka got some unexpected shine.
*On a different note, I am 'scared' Deku will get DBZ/Naruto Shipuuden levels of power escalation with his sudden "6 new potential powers".
I'm up to date with the manga and
What kind of show it'll become
It doesn't become infinite power scaling like DBZ but rather his quirks generally enhance his ability to fight in a battle giving him more options...
Nature of DEKU in BNHA
...options overall that aid in battle intstead of OP offensive options, they're mostly like support quirks like...
Spoilers for the quirks explained very poorly that it's not a direct spoiler but still spoils what the quirk will be like
in order of appearance
Sero's tape but 100x better, /fly, Beta spidey sense with pain, smoke grenade, stockpiling quirk but it actually stockpiles like an independant quirk >Discount 1 time use 100% moves
The fights did feel quite underwhelming in the second half for reasons you stated since it was less about teamwork and more about the powerhouse of the team, but at the same time, it felt like they already spent quite a few episodes on these low stakes fights even though it was essentially practice and to reintroduce everyone (including class 1B) before whatever is going to occur in the next arc.
However, my main issue for the later fights is that power escalation you noted at the end because (anime only spoilers) it is clearly a retcon given that not even All Might knew of this occurring. Instead of allowing him to focus on mastering One for All’s basic quirk and making it to 100% without permanently damaging his arms/legs, this secondary effect reduces that tension involved since he can now just use one of the other quirks when he is able to control them
