Any anime with bad endings?

Can anyone recommend anime where the ending is bad, (as in bad I don't mean like a poorly done ending, I mean endings where the villain wins or a dark ending?

  Hell basically descended on Earth for a whole bunch of people and only Shirou survived it. I'd say quite bad.

  It's hands down one of the darkest in anime. It could have been the darkest if they had shown it in detail.

  -Your lie in april (22 ep)
  -Wolf children (1 movie)
  -Your Name (1 movie)
  -Rascal does not dream of a bunny girl senpai (13 ep + 1 movie)
  -Violet evergarden (13 ep)
  The last 2 really haven't a sad/dramatic finale, but they will give you a strong emotional impact, based on my experience

  Clannad's ed depends on the perspective.I like to be optimistic so chose the alternate timeline theory and also bc I didn't want to cry for several more days.On the other hand I was talking about the ed of end of evangelion which was absolute mind fuck

Berserk, Shiki, Evangelion. Probably Monster. Not so much an ending since they're episodic but Kino's Journey and Hell Girl (take this one with a grain of salt because I never completed it). Higurashi, Akame ga Kill.

The ones worth watching that come to mind.

  I don't think dawn of the deep soul has a bad ending; it ends on a very happy note, much like the rest of the arcs.

  They got the whistle and advanced to the next layer, but at what cost. They were left utterly powerless to prevent Bondrewd's continuous experimentation and not to mention Prushka was turned into jelly.

  Prushka was turned into a whistle, which with the tone of the show is actually something that I would consider happy rather than sad.
  
  And not being able to stop Bondrewd is of course pretty bad, but compared to their goal of making it down safely they managed that fine. They dealt with the villain character, even if they didn't stop them.
