Compared to the manga, a lot of the later episodes of the anime felt quite rushed. My guess is that they probably wanted fit everything within the 12 episodes.

I don't get how episode 12 even counts as an ending because of how rushed it was and the ending is plain and unclear.

MC was able to make a "wish" and his wish was for all the powers to go away, and as a result they did, along with all their effects including everyone's memories being erased, which is what everyone thought he was going to wish for.
