I have tried watching it twice, but the charachters are just super unlikeable. Could someone explain what the hype is about?
aot probably just isn't for you then. I loved it since the beginning. Liked all the characters, the world, the themes, all of it was so perfect for me. But if you tried not once but TWICE and it's not appealing to you.... just don't waste ur time on something ur not enjoying. Never force urself to like something just because the majority does. So it would be fine to just drop it and find something better than aot for you. I think that would be the best course of action
Yeah probably isnt for me. I guess im just more into romance and slice of life. Im still new to anime.
SOL and romance?? May I recomend
Love Chunibyo Other Delusions
and
Kaguyasama Love is War
my two personal fav rom coms you shld give em a watch 👍
I totally agree with u dude. Actually if u see it, first 3 seasons are completely boring. People say that it has some awesome reveals. But the only reveals the first 3 seasons had were about the characters who were titans. I actually thought that whenever the writer didnt know what to write further, he turned the characters into titans to progress the story further.
But tbh, season 4 was way better than the first 3
Like some of the people here I thought it was amazing from start to finish. However, that is probably because I watched it when I was young when only season 1 released so I grew up with it. At first, I liked the action elements since I was a preteen but as more seasons released, my tastes also matured so I learned to appreciate the darker and more serious elements and character development rather than just BIG MONSTER HITS ANOTHER MONSTER and the 3D manuvering gear scenes
I've liked AOT since it was released although s1 isn't that hyped, and as the story builds up, it gets more interesting. Maybe this kind of story isn't your style but for me, it is a well-made anime. From character development and plot twist, it is really good. Well, it's overhyped but the hyped is worth it.
I would say attack on titan has a really good narrative and even though I personally never got attached to any of the characters I still think that its plot is what makes it so interesting. But I can understand why it would be boring for you. Personally I found myself getting the hype only in S3 part 2. However even then I would not treat it as the best piece of fiction lol. Try to finish season 3 part 2 and if you still don't like it drop the show. S3 part 2 is a really good payoff to everything built up to that point
Some anime get so hyped up that when you eventually get to it, you think: "THIS is what people have been nagging to me about for months?". It's honestly horrible when people hype things up, anything, it doesn't matter. Always keep your expectations low and if you don't like something that the majority likes, that's not bad. Everyone has different tastes.
And keep in mind the majority of humanity are a bunch of sheep who just follow each other like a herd and can't form their own honest opinion. I'm not attacking anyone here, just clarifying
If you don't like it that's your opinion. However in my opinion from what I can tell you stopped RIGHT before where the best part of the story starts. I advise you to at least get past Season 3 Part 2, if you don't enjoy season 3 Part 2 even like midway through though you can drop. I think around midway through Season 3 is when the anime defines itself as a classic. But of course it's your choice!
I agree, I could never get into is past the second season. https://anilist.co/forum/thread/20695
no ur definitely right to wonder LMAO the first two seasons were ok third was p good but i just did not vibe w the final season like at all! i even read the manga so that ppl couldnt say "oh u have to read the manga to know" and yea by the end i literally hated all of the characters besides hange, levi, jean, erwin, and gabi
