Goat tier lvl anime. This anime was so good oh my words what a banger episode to close it out
Its was the plottwist itself, but I´m little confused this girl at the end is she a new caracter somehow ? I´m not sure with some voices
In an earlier episode, the new black cat who replaced the mystery kiss member who died said that she found out she was only 1 spot away from being in the group.
Because of this, and the fact we now know she killed the other mystery kiss member, it's clear she did this knowing if she killed another member of the group, she would get in.
agreed. 2nd season with romance between odokawa and shirakawa when?
I mean, from the ending we can assume he is probably murdered.
I dunno, it is pretty open ended. The show lays all the cards on the table from both characters for the viewer to see. She clearly intends to murder Odokawa, but Odokawa earlier states he remembers her being in her car the night of the murder and that he should take it to the police, this could be a sting with lil’ bro to catch her, but Odokawa also only saw her as a cat and it is unknown if he would recognize her as a human. We don’t know who has the upper hand, we just know someone does.
super easy 9/10.....ending was way better than i expected, the plot twist of the new girl killing mitsuya after everyone else has good endings made me chuckle :DDD going to rewatch this again soon, im glad i gave this a chance when i found this near the bottom of the catalogue list for spring season
I haven't been so heavily invested in an anime for such a long time. Super unique and masterfully written series. The coolest part to me was how it took advantage of the medium in such an interesting way! The plot twist was great! Definitely a standout not in just this season but for the year. I hope it stays in the recommendation lists for future... it certainly will stay in mine.
What a perfect way to wrap things up. The scene with Odokawa's car driving off the bridge was a shocking climax and I was worried he wouldn't be saved, but I'm glad he was.
Any loose threads gets explained, even without any kind of big infodump, and we get to see all of the human versions of the characters. I honestly couldn't ask for a better ending, even though I'm sad now that it's over.
I am happy to see the mean score going from 70% at the begging to almost 80% rn. and I believe it will get higher after more people finishing it.
Many people that are actually invested, won't rate until they finished. I don't get it either, why you'd want to rate a season/anime without knowing how it ends. unless it really isn't your cup of tea and you drop it, but even then. it feels weird giving a score without seeing everything
I give things a tentative rating while watching the show, even if it isn't a seasonal. Obviously the rating changes over time, but I have it there ahead of time so that people looking at my list can see how much I like the portion of the show I've watched.
It's the same thing for ongoing mangas and the like.
I am actually so upset if this genuinely means Odokawa is going to be killed/is dead, but that ending though. I thought it was so cute seeing the human versions of everyone, and how their traits made Odokawa see them as those specific animals and damn was that scene where the taxi was in front of the moon with a money trail HOW CINEMATIC. Also Yano is one of my favourite characters still, did you see his stupid little picture on the news like what a little gremlin man. I really hope the manga gets an official English translation with how well-received the anime has been but anime like March Comes in like a Lion did stellar but still no manga translation sO WHO KNOWS one can dream
I already knew that if the ending was decent, this would be my AOTS, but this was everything I wanted and more. All the foreshadowing payed off, loose ends were all tied up, and even so, there's an open-ended conclusion that keeps in line with the mystery of series. The ending is reaching levels of kino AOT could only dream of.
This was a fantastic, one-of-a-kind show, and I hope to watch more of the scriptwriter's works.
Never saw that twist coming in a million years holy shit I love this show.
Also just for clarification, the black cat killed the previous cat, was #1 in the game and stole that eraser right?
Oh wow, what a finale!!!
‘Odokawa viewing humans as animals’ theory is proven to be true.
It’s revealed that it was only a cat (the one in the beginning of the OP) that was hiding in the closet. Figured that would be the case.
I was relieved that Odokawa managed to survive but then that final scene... Uhhhhh...
Hands down AOTS!! Hell, I would go as far as to say AOTY.
Seeing all the characters in their human form was so exciting!! I had a feeling that new black cat killed Mitsuya but I'm still shocked. I wonder how long she can go without getting caught?? I wonder what the cat in Odokawa's closet appeared as when he still had visual agnosia. This was def one of the best anime's this szn & i hope it gets renewed :) def planning to rewatch.
FUCK THIS WAS SO DAMN GOOD, EVERY EPISODE KEPT ME HOOKED. One thing I have a question about is in the scene when he was still on the hospital bed and was talking to the guy that won the lottery and he mentioned the murderer (black cat #2).
In this case did Odakawa ever tell the police that the girl (black cat #2) that he drove that night is the killer, or at least a suspect in the case. But it also makes no sense if I think about it cuz previously, others around Odakawa had complimented how he had the ability to distinguish a person in a crowd. But in this case when the murderer entered the car Odakawa didn’t seem to recognize or react, or we just never got to see it.
Fuck the ending is good but I really wish they didn’t do me like dat.
Time to go recommend this to my friends again w/o them saying it’s just furry shit, which technically it is until the final episode :/
I blindly started watching the show when ep6 was out, goddamn the ride was AMAZING.
Haven't been that interested in a seasonal anime in years now.
I'm planning to listen to the drama cds parts at the end of the episodes, just for fun: now that the cat is out of the bag (kek) I don't think those audios will do something about the culprit, but it sill seems an interesting deepening
translation of the audio drama which took place in the period after odakawa’s release from the hospital and before final scene:
“ basically they're all having a party at the bar that they always go to with that barkeep lady. odokawa and all the main characters. and they're just messin around, kabasawa and the homosapiens guys and everyone are apologizing for all the trouble they've caused. odokawa struggles to give a speech thanking all of them because he's never really had friends before. then since the last train is going they wrap up early and all go home. the high school kid who's been ripping the wiretap audio off the broadcast radio waves and uploading them basically commentates like "there's actually a little bit more let's listen together" and the final recording is of the barkeep lady of yamabiko, the bar/restaurant they always go to. turns out that SHE'S the one who planted the wiretap in the pen and started circulating it out. she has this whole spiel about how she's just a little old lady who doesn't know how technology works but she's been having fun eavesdropping on everyone and she clearly states that she knows nikaido was NOT the murderer, but she knows who it was, she knows about odokawa's involvement, etc. and then she gets a knock on the door. she's like "sorry we're closed already, did you leave something behind?" and it's sakura, mitsuya's replacement, who i'm fairly certain murders (or at least knocks out) the barkeep lady because she Knows too much. then she finally retrieves the wiretap pen while saying "ah this is such a pain in the ass" and once she grabs it, says "the guy who's listening to this. you're next. the guy holding the ballpoint pen at shibuya stations new south exit."
safe to say odakawa is a goner... also rip mama.
