Which animanga do you think has the most well-written villains in it in your opinion?

ummmmm hxh has insanely good villains but i rly rly like the aot "villains"

1. I cant say for the whole Psycho Pass series as they kind of flunked it in further seasons, but season 1`s Shogo Makeshima definitely displayed a beautiful sophisticated display of the paradox of objective morality while making it approachable by wider audiences.
2. Definitely Johan Liebert from Monster as well as (spoiler alert) the state apparatus and its influence on shaping the human mind.

imo what qualifies as a really good villain is when the story can be told from their perspective and it still makes a lick of sense

id say orochimaru in like the og naruto cause like the aura that was present around him back then was straight up terrifying like his speech the may he used his tongue his theme music i think its really good

Hunter x Hunter has one of the best villains but if I were to add to the list, I'd say Kotomine Kirei from Fate/Stay Night is really good too.

If it was me having a guilty pleasure, I'd add Sukuna from Jujutsu Kaisen as well hehe.

In general it's Hunter x Hunter without doubts, it has a great cast of antagonistic characters, but if we go just by the point of one main antagonist, then it's either Johan from Monster or Griffith from Berserk.

Daiya Oomine. He is the only antagonist I actually fucking cried for.

Askeladd from Vinland Saga and Hisoka from HxH are the two I can think off of the top of my head

First one I thought of when you said you love them being a foil to the main character. Attack on Titan spoilers:
Eren Jaeger. He's a foil to his younger self. I love how Isayama showed his mind degrading over time

Maybe Kirei Kotomine from fate/zero

In my opinion, the Monogatari series has the best cast of antagonists that you can find in anime.

Also, Vinland Saga has a great antagonist that seems to fit what you're looking for. He is a supreme example of being a foil for the protagonist, while also being charismatic.

I'm currently in the process of watching it, but the main antagonist so far in Haikyuu has been a thrill to watch.

Lastly, if you're up for reading novels, the Re:ZERO antagonists become a very good group of antagonists.

Now, Pain made me humble ngl. He made me learn to see perspectives of other people. As someone who was previously isolated and no one looked through my perspective, I understand him a lot. He made talk good about others behind their backs Lolololol.
