What do you think about the episode?
Just watched this and I can say that this doesn't grip me at least. Karen is the typical tsundere, the miko girl with the weird black hair is the typical clumsy loli, and Rinne... she doesn't seem like she has only one archetype I guess (she's kuudere and tsundere at the same time?) and our Setsuna is as uninteresting as Ichika from Infinite Stratos.
Yeah, I'm going to drop this. Also this is based from a Visual Novel I believe and none of the girls are that interesting, so I'm not curious of who will end with Setsuna (probably the main girl Rinne since she's given the most screentime).
I'm gonna continue, though it's probably for all the wrong reasons.
I know it's too early to judge, but this seems like nothing more than a classic harem-like show with a time travel plot twist that is there only to make it seem a bit interesting, only to disappear into thin air soon after the start. Characters are a joke, and what the fuck is wrong with the script? A girl falling on top of a naked man on a beach even though she would've normally seen him from miles away.
Honestly, I thought the first episode was pretty damn hilarious. But, like I said, for all the wrong reasons.
The first few minutes were really rushed and pretty stupid, the musical performances were unintentionally hilarious, and the harem fanservice is just cliche and dumb...
... but I'm actually liking this show so far? The MC is really charming and funny-- though that's probably just because he has Haru Yoshida's VA from My Little Monster-- and the mystery drew me in. But that might just be because it's giving me serious Higurashi vibes.
Well, overall, I guess I have no idea if I like this show or if I only think I like it because it reminds me of other shows I like.
I...
I really want to go rewatch Higurashi now, man...
Susprisingly the art is good for a feel. anime. It's got it's share of harem stuff but I'm liking Setsuna so far since he's an inch better than the average generic MC. As for the girls, they're pretty lame. Although the show has a talented cast, the characters themselves are flat (pun intended) and I'm unimpressed by them. I cringed at the "lalala" part but I liked the mysterious aura surrounding Setsuna and the Island. Let's see how this pans out, so far the show is a 56 for me. I predict it to go further down but hey, I might be wrong.
P.S: Yeah if it wasn't obvious, I'm trying to stay positive about the show. I do find it okay but am trying to hope that it gets better else I'll drop it by episode 3 or so...
WHAT? We're not even 30 seconds in and you're already saying "I might break."? We're going straight into it! And EAT DICK! YES! Oh...the girls aren't wearing skirts this time. That's something you don't see every day...
Sure is a lot of lighting...hopefully it doesn't get too glaring...
Rinne's mom is best mom.
Spiky-hair Sara!
And yay! Yukarin is singing!
So we got Setsuna who got washed up on Urashima which is an Island that has strict traditions and want to exile any outsiders. Setsuna doesn't remember anything except that he "traveled through time" along with possibly Rinne. He has to "kill" someone, and there are others who are after him like Sara. Karen might know something based on her crying in that dark room. And Rinne can't touch sunlight? She albino? Are we watching the anime version of The Others since her mom doesn't seem to venture out in the sun as well? Well we see Rinne dancing in the sun in the OP, so we'll let the anime explain itself. Also, this is pretty much a mystery, so someone needs to add a mystery tag to this.
