How do you guys cope with something you yourself spoiled for you. I am so frustrated right now, I want to forget it, but like the rest of things I've been spoiled on, it has now become a permanent memory. It was just for few seconds, I just happened to read a title of a YouTube video and now I know that a specific character from an anime dies. (PLEASE DON'T SPOIL IN THE REPLIES, THANK YOU!)
Stop thinking about it and eventually you'll forget it
I hope so.
I hate to ruin this moment but by creating an entire thread you've basically burnt the spoiler into your mind. The best you can do if you encounter one again is to look away immediately and don't feel any emotion towards it. Negative or positive emotions will basically burn anything into your mind just like any other memories.
TLDR, next time try to feel nothing towards the spoiler
If you're this frustrated over the spoiler you probably wont forget about it. I dont really cope when it comes to spoilers, i just continue to watch the anime. Nothing you can do about it really, except unsubscribing to whoever made the video and/or click "not interested" on recommended videos relating to the anime you're watching to stop the loop of spoilers.
Honestly for high priority shows, just avoid any mention of the series and just watch it for yourself. If you see a spoiler for a show you really wanted to see, then hold off on it. Like for example, I was deep into AOT spoilers and now I have no clue what happens lol. Same with stuff like Code Geass S2 and One Piece
for me, even if i get spoiled for a certain part of a show, i dont mind it muchh because atleast the parts leading up to it will be a surprize
like say, you get spoiled about a certain character being a traitor. It may ruin the suspence but you still dont know why they turned traitor or how the reveal will go
i try to console myself by saying "its not about the end its about the journey" and thinking of it like i said above
you cant, best thing you can do to avoid spoilers is to only interact with the community (whether it be forums, youtube, disc etc.) after you're caught up on both the anime AND manga, LN too if there is one, otherwise you're bound to get spoiled at some point or another.
It has happened to me more times than I can count at this point, so I'm kinda numb to spoilers for certain anime/manga. :p
