  You're right, some of your favorites are also on my PtW; Penguindrum, Tatami Galaxy and Planetes to name a few.
  
  It's a shame that Fate, KnK and Monogatari didn't click with you, oh well. The last two are some of the best character drama out there.

  Needless to say, Kara no Kyoukai is a strong recommend, it's nothing like Fate in case you're worried they are similiar. Dialogue-heavy and ambience-driven.
