Well I was chatting with my friends on discord and they laughed so hard when they found I watch anime on YouTube, it’s not that i only watch anime on YouTube, I watch mostly on pirated sites and some of the seasonals on YouTube.
Anyone else here who uses it to watch anime.
Also Muse asia and ani-one asia are 2 broadcasters for Asian countries. It’s very much legal.
I don't know why you would watch anime on Youtube of all places. The quality is always horrible, I watched about 3 episodes of AOT on Youtube before switching to literally anything else.
The quality is really good on official broadcasting channels. Muse asia and ani one asia provide quality content
Muse Asia only gives you 720p. Maybe it would look good on a bad screen. But if you have a good monitor, then going full screen will make your eyes regret ever watching anime on YouTube. I get the whole idea of supporting the creators, but quality is quality. You cannot deny that Muse Asia's 720p episodes look like trash on a good monitor.
When you use a mobile or an iPad to watch those episodes on YouTube, it looks godly compared to others
It looks better than pirate sites? Nope. You're wrong about that. Here's how it goes
Torrents > Official streams > Illegal pirate streams > YouTube. No matter what device you're in, that's the order. I've uploaded videos on YouTube before and they lower the quality of your video. If you compare an anime episode from YouTube side by side with an anime episode from a pirate site (a good one with a good video hosting service) then the difference is easy to spot if you have somewhat good eyes. Most dark scenes come off as pixelated on YouTube. Back in the day, I watched a handful of anime on YouTube, the quality was almost never good. Ani-One Asia at least tries to keep the quality good, but it still doesn't look good. I'm sorry man but pirate sites (good ones) are just better.
I watch anime on YouTube uploaded by the official channels. Example - Atashin'chi episodes are uploaded by the official channel. They're fun to watch! Same with Oishinbo
I know you can legally watch I, Tsushima (hands-down AOTS) on youtube too
Other than those examples, I wouldn't consider YouTube the best place to watch seasonal anime as the quality is usually low and the uploaders usually having to speed up the episode or something similar to avoid the video being taken down
Only use to watch clips but not too much to spoil me.
Other than that, they are all in "dub" and "skipped tons of scene" and "small to prevent copyright".
Only time I did watch anime on youtube was for "initial D" when they did have the full season 1 and jp sub on youtube and was free. They removed now
Copyright filters are such that unless you trash the quality any copyrighted material uploaded is going to get striked fairly quickly, so its better to get recommended a streaming site (legal or illegal) with a good library than to slog through trying to find quality on yt.
The only exception is Revolutionary Girl Utena which is legally on youtube at 720p, so I watched it on my tv youtube app at age 16. But for better quality you either have to buy the blurays or illegally stream it, so the youtube release really only has the benefit of access
There are two channels currently which are uploading anime weekly and it is all legal. One of them is Muse Asia and I forgot the name of the other one. But yeah i can imagine people watching anime on youtube now but before.. idk. Although, I watched an anime called "Nyan Koi" with my brother on youtube.
YouTube's copyright system is so inconsistent. If the anime is well known, it might get taken down. Even though I remember seeing I think was the Girl Who Leapt Through Time on YouTube, so some titles have slipped under the radar. Obscure anime seem to get away with being on YouTube with no issues except maybe lower video resolutions.
Only for fan-translated Chinese stuff that isn't available anywhere else TwT
tbh I've become super picky with subs and I always end up wanting to take screenshots, so even if it's only on youtube I'll usually first try to download it in some form since vlc has stopped letting me stream yt videos >.<
oh and I also use Taiga, so if it's on youtube and the title doesn't line up nicely I have to manually update it on AL and that's a pain -¬-
