i know this is a site for anime lists but does anyone else like to list any other media they've watched just to keep track of it? I just found a website that's similar to this but with movies and im wondering if anyone else does this. Otherwise, I'd love to hear what movies you guys would recommend!
I think users Mimi and Harunobu posted about Letterboxd not too long ago which got me into tracking my movies. Is that what you use as well? I'm less inclined to update that though since I mainly watch anime and there's a real nice community on this site but now I am trying to keep track of that as well. Although since I started that super late in the game I'm not even trying to remember all the movies I've watched since it's just too much, only updating new stuff that I watch.
I do. I even could consider making lists as one of my minor hobbies. Besides AniList, I'm still using MyAnimeList to track every anime I've watched. For movies I'm currently using Letterboxd and IMDb which are very good, specially the former and I track the CD's I've listened to with Rate your Music, which is also a nice site.
Not necessarily the best site, but the closest resemblence to MAL and ANI is trakt.tv for movies and tv shows. Best would be iMDB, due the ammount of data allready stored, but it can be backfeeded to other sites via RSS.
For books, goodreads.com is pretty much the only decent database dedicated for it as far as i know. Some make do with amazon.com , but that's a workaround rather than a solution. For fanfiction and niche literature - pen and paper should do :P
As for games, there is backloggery.com for 80s an older relict's of gaming history and the still growing mygamelist.com.
Last.fm and RYM for music, IMDB for movies and shows, also previously used MAL before this mess. I'm very interested in music in general and that allowed me to be even more open-minded with anime/manga in general! My taste in movies, however, it's a bit basic and I could say I'm pretty clueless in cult films, but I know about cinematography, directing, writing, OST, art that I can apply universally in media.
Definitely. I'm a big fan of Letterboxd. Other than that, I do have Last.fm setup to track my music listening as well.
If you're looking for people to follow, feel free to checkout my profile and see if there's any films that look interesting https://letterboxd.com/venerablemonstr/ .
backloggery is really good for tracking video games! i've not used it for ages though :(
So I've been on quite the search and I've come back with some results:
Grouvee is the best I've come across for gaming.
Trakt is the best for movies & tv (it also does anime).
last.fm (paired with your spotify for 'scrobbling') is the only good option that I've found for music (and it isn't perfect).
(if anyone has any other better ones to add, let me know)
Yea I have an account on IMDb, last.fm and also on some book listing site (a one in my native language, not international). I'm obsessed about keeping track of things like that, though I recently stopped using last.fm - my new phone doesn't support any of the apps. And as for movies here's my account: https://www.imdb.com/user/ur88825729/, ofc I recommend everything I scored high as long as the genres are to your liking. (The list is small cause I moved there from another site and haven't updated everything, just added the most memorable ones.)
