What did you think of the episode?
Edit:
Pretty bad episode don't wanna comment anything
Ahh this ep was nice. Nice backstory. It was heartwarming, and enjoyable to see both of them enjoying themselves.
and of course the explosion was poggers, can't wait for next ep.
and his eyes, damn great
I could use this as a pfp lol
People whining and bitching about animation quality drop and future trouble with production cause of longer ED credits and more animation directors, like wth. This episode was alright; it was average-looking AT THE WORST. This shot there was really dope, ngl.
People whining and bitching about animation quality drop
@Ryuseishun yup, I agree it was not that bad, I guess people just put up the bar high cuz it's MAPPA and MADHOUSE
Its nice that we got to see what happened to Cosette and what she was like before she was uh killed? I guess. Its also nice that its explained what happened to her and why does Takt's hand disappears when Unmei transform I'm guessing its something about life force and stuff, tho it did kinda felt rushed to me. And Cosette's smile was so adorable, I mean she's already adorable normally
Cosette was like a totally different person in this episode compared to episode 1. I'm assuming her personality changed after she died and turned into destiny. We also know why/how Takt lost his arm. We also saw a little bit of Takt's background story and the death of his father which affected him in some ways.
WHY TF ARE THERE MUSIC FESTIVALS IF MUSIC ATTRACTS D2???
Throughout the episode, you can hear people talk about how music is slowly fading from the world. Literally, at the beginning of the episode, we hear a guy give a speech about how "music is poison far too potent for this world" yet here we are holding music festivals like everything is fucking fine.
Am I the only know confused by this? In episode 1 Takt plays the piano in a town filled with people and that caused D2 to attack the town. Now Takt and Cosette are playing the grand piano at a festival like wtf.
I noticed the Grand maestro sagan had a partner with him that had blonde hair, this blonde hair guy obviously knew something bad was gonna happen but let the party go on anyways. They look like important people who may be the villains in the future.
Compared to episode 1 this episode was pretty relaxing up until the very end. I liked hearing Cosette and Takt play the piano.
WHY TF ARE THERE MUSIC FESTIVALS IF MUSIC ATTRACTS D2???
Because this episode happens before the D2 arrives. It's a prequel episode to explain how they got to ep 1
No, they know D2 already exists, they literally said it in the episode.
Cosette was talking about how she's from France and there arent many instruments left there. They started banning music because of D2.

I don't think that's because of that, music was decreasing and that speech at the beginning came after this event at the end of the episode. I strongly doubt the symphonica would have let them play otherwise.
I thought this was easily explained with the Symphonica people bringing the festival to different towns? Clearly they are the "military" in charge of dealing with D2s and were probably in charge of security.
The shot of their commander dude watching Cossette and Takt play while smiling could indicate something more sinister within their organization. Maybe he was aware of what was about to happen, and having Cossette become a Musicart was part of a plan all along?
WHY TF ARE THERE MUSIC FESTIVALS IF MUSIC ATTRACTS D2???
because the threat of d2s were decreasing. they said something along the lines of “although they aren’t completely gone, the threat of d2s attacking is pretty low”.
and it was also mentioned that this was something like “a single day of freedom”, so it might be like one little day off from the music ban ig
The first episode of the series felt so out of place, for me at least. It wasn't a bad episode but didn't really fit the role to be the first one to start it all. So needless to say I was spectical and negative about how they will continue. However this second one was a blessing for both the eyes and ears. This should've been the first episode of the series in my opinion. The visuals are outstanding, the music is on point and beautiful, the characters were lovely and it did great as a starting point which the first episode failed at. Keep in mind these are only my standpoints and you are free to disagree with what I said.
What a big downgrade from the first episode, it was a bait I guess ? I think that the flashback itself was okay, but way too long. I would have shortened the beggining and prolonged where the action started, also I find weird how Takt seems to be prepared once he grabs the wand/whatever is that, I guess once Cossete changed he got the information in his head and just did it automatically?
The piano part was nice but they were just doing short jumps lmao it was hilarious, and I didn't saw the hair of Cosette moving in the whole episode 0.0 I hope the next one is better.
