I never discussed much about books with other lgbtqers about lgbt books.
yes, they're everywhere, but this manga took my heart.
~(>_<。)\
Look, I haven't read this, I did add it to my planning cause it looks cute and interesting, maybe educational as well. Just don't exclude straight people from having discussions about LGBTQ+ related subjects, thanks.

Title: they speak to the lgbtq+ community
"I never discussed much about books with other lgbtqers about lgbt books."
That's excluding straight people.

It’s discrimination. Why can only people of LGBTQ+ discuss this manga? Why can it not just be “Everyone, what did you think of this story?”.
Just because you aren't being explicitly included doesn't mean you are being excluded. Being able to read between the lines is a good life skill.
They wish to have a discussion with other LGBTQ people, how is that being discriminatory? People really need to stop being so sensitive on the internet and just let people have the discussions they wish to have with the people they want to have it with.
We feel in a safer space discussing lgtbq+ related stuff with other people from our community due to obvious reasons.
Either way, if you want to still give your opinion about the work regardless you are free to do it but your comment just comes off as a straight person wanting attention and not adding much to the discussion.
That’s fucked up? I’m straight, every person I know who is straight support LGBTQ+. I do not understand why I am excluded from giving my opinion about a same sex relationship story.
Would it be right for me to put “Heterosexuals, I want your opinion about this heterosexual relationship.” What the fuck? No, it’s wrong.
A straight person telling an LGTBQ+ person how they should feel about commenting stuff with other straight people it's what is really fucked up in here. You don't know the experiences we have gone through just because of our gender identity or sexuality so I really recommend you to educate yourself on the matter and stop dismissing others' experiences.
Also, straight people don't suffer from systemic oppression.
Gay guy gets tortured for being gay his whole life, that's the story. His husband is barely a character too. I like the idea and did feel bad for MC, but the payoff wasn't worth all the pain. Wish there were more scenes with MC and his hubby being lovey-dovey instead of MC getting r*ped or having to deal with MC's ex. Can't help but think the og novel this manga was based off of was miles better.
I'm not sure what you mean as "like the idea."
The husband isn't just a character, the person who wrote it is about his life of his journey being gay and finding his husband. Dealing with the ex and SA is part of his life, and chose to tell his story.
Life isn't fair, there isn't a payoff of all the pain. It's life. I hope you know these are real people. :>
Late reply, sorry.
I know this story is based on real events and people. Which is why I hate how little characterization the husband got. I would never imagine that guy was based on an actual human instead of the "nice guy" trope. MC seems to fall for him because he wasn't an awful person which is a low af bar lol. Their romance wasn't explored or given much time either. Is it how their irl romance was too?
Overall I think that what made me dislike the manga even more than other uncomfortable parts.
Ooh I understand now!
I believe it could also be due to keeping personal life and such, and maybe they only wanted to share what felt memorable and important (the relationship with their husband and the husband himself.)
In dating of being queer AND being in a Asian country, it's quite hard when starting, this means finding meetups, apps, finding other people who are just like you. And most of all, he wasn't an awful person because he wasn't poessively toxic, nor wanting for only his body just as his past had, and as a queer + asian person, finding a healthy relationships romantic or not is just usually well, I think this is something everyone should have. I'm sure the author had a long history, and they were friends with benefits before, and still kept in touch after. I don't think they included everything of every second they spent time together, but the important parts :D
