Space Colonies/Travel or maybe Historical-Fantasy using something like Spain or America as main setting
check out legend of galactic heroes and gundam. for historical fantasies theres vinland saga, kingdom, vagabond and rurouni kenshin
All of these setting althought historical are all asian (except vinland that is scandinavian) i would like to see some anime with spanish empire as setting too
Not that much of Spanish influence but if you want something different then Shokoku no Altair is a great choice with it's heavy Mediterranean influences.
