i can understand needing a movie for the finale but it would be strange to make an anime original ending.
It makes a lot of sense because the manga ending is awful.
im not saying its amazing just that it would be strange that MAPPA would change the ending, if Isayama requests it then all g.

No, that's not what's being said there. "What if you all discuss whether this final season will end the same as the original story?" It isn't about deciding about "staying true" to the manga or not, but about "if" it will end the same as the manga - because the decision has already been made. The very fact a different ending was brought up in a official event to promote the Final Season, Part 2 all but screams what said decision was. And Kaji's panicked response to it "Please don't think of this as foreshadowing!"
As for where do I see Isayama, well, if the anime will have a different ending, and it certaintly seems that way, it's at the very least with Isayama's consent. Because MAPPA can't do whatever they want.
