So It Takes Two won this years goty which I'm fine with the game was really fun personally I would have preferred if Ratchet and Clank or psychonauts 2 won but no complaints there really. For the other categories I thought some didn't really make sense like Deathloop winning best art direction but what are yalls thoughts on who won the different categories? (I admit that i didnt watch the whole thing i got bored then just came back at the end for goty)
so proud of jenshin impact for winning best mobile game
Probably the most unexciting category in the whole thing
that was the only reason i watched the game awards (not live)
couldn't care less about creators and esports
I mean yeah idc about esport stuff as well but mobile games arent exactly very exciting to me either
I see, I respect your opinion.
I love mobile games so yeah LOL
Well nah dont get me wrong i like mobile games too but more specifically tower defense stuff like pvz or balloons td and honestly Genshin doesnt really feel like a mobile game yk? Its like cod winning best mobile game just bc it got ported to phones
I thought it takes two was well deserved the category tht didnt sit well with me was best narrative, i do realise that the other entries were very weak but a guardians game winning best narrative just goes to show how weak games were this year. The main highlight of the show for me was the elden ring lore trailer (IM SO FKING HYPED FOR THIS GAME)
My take on the year:
(Not gonna talk about the award directly for now. I need some time to gather my thoughts to do that)
To me as an MMO & Anime RPG player, this year was very exiting cause of the downfall of Blizzard.
FF14 finally got some attention, and many Anime RPG got announced. My problem with the anime RPG genre in the past two years is it was always being in this "yea, games are coming, but it feels like they will never arrive, cause half of them becomes a disaster after release, or being axed even before the release, and then around 99% of the remaining games are turning out to be only JP or only CN titles" state.
Tales of Arise was pretty good tho. Still playing it. I also wish PSO2 would be able to fix their server problems alongside fixing some systems and introducing some new ones as well, cause the core game design isn't bad, it just needs polish.
About Genshin Impact, i hope the company gonna change their mentality next year, because this "we wanna constantly use you as a walking advertising board for minor rewards, even forcing you to pay for it" is beyond sad.
The game is great, but the company itself acts like they really don't care about their western audience's morality.
