Future ideas? I guess?

It would be so cool if anilist had more events like POTY, but I feel like it would end up swept under the rug barely anyone noticing it like now? I think if anilist had a + tab saying news next to forum you could collect site news (upgrades, events, mod application etc.) there and maybe just anime/manga related news? I'm sure some people would love to write articles here. Or if that is too much hassle, this could be semi-solved with the al-badge site icon implemented next to the al logo. (This badge logo would lead to the badge site.) I literally only learned of the existence of this site and I think it would help other newcomers too.

If there is already a thread for future stuff, sorry!

Several things, and just my personal take…
Edit: nut beat me to it :d

WRT news: we already have (user-created) @ANNBot and there are specialized websites for anime news that exist
some people like to share that here with the “News” forum category… but I don’t think we’d want to spend excessive time curating and maintaining a news feed/having users source since there still needs to be moderation in that.

WRT site updates: you can subscribe to our “changelog” pinned thread for a feed of site updates

WRT events: events are community-run and unaffiliated with us… the groups just do their own thing, and I’m sure they’d rather us not meddle with their system…
while integration may be a cool idea, it’s just not currently feasible. (And wouldn’t be fair for 1 group to get privileged treatment over many other groups)

(Also I don’t think we’d or anyone would want us to officialize/incentivize a personal and subjective competition given our potential ability for bias)

WRT mod applications: there is a very prominent banner on the homepage when it is active.

the thing i want most is the ability to set certain episodes as re-watched, like if i re-watch episode 50-75 of naruto or something i can mark 50-75 rewatched, instead of just putting rewatched episodes 1-25

and if you say read the first 50 chapter's then you wanna watch the anime so you start where the manga left off and mark it as completed from episode 11 - 24

groups/clubs are on the roadmap. once (if ever) these are implemented onto the site i assume each event group will create their own group/club and this'll be an easier way for people to find and participate in events.
