i loved the old one but i dont understand what material they gonna adapt . either way this series coming back along with bleach and slamdunk means a lot for the anime fans of 2000
i read the beginning of the manga and this is the continuation of the "main story"
where kaoru and kenshin are already married
when tf did this happen? After Kyoto or sumn? and BTW RUROUNI KENSHIN LIKE A REAL SEASON COMING BACK? DEADASS?
If you read the manga it would be after
the fight with tomoe's brother and at the end of it it is shown that kenshin and kaoru are together
And yeah it's a real sequel with also a new cast, which also has major role and aren't only supporting roles, from a spin off the manga
I haven't read the manga I stopped at Kyoto, so are they going to skip the arc right after Kyoto? If so that's a lil wack
And wait, did u say NEW cast? Like.... is this like the Yashahime to the Inuyasha series??? Or the Boruto to Naruto???
In the first place, the anime only went until the Kyoto Arc and continued with 4 anime filler arcs and finished with the Feng Shui Arc (the 4th of the filler arcs). But it never had the final season with the main story, the Jinchu Arc, where
Kenshin would be confronted by his late wife's brother. There, his history and background as the Hitokiri Battosai is furthermore explained and how he actually met his wife Tomoe. Compare to the anime, the manga is instantly followed by the final arc (Jinchu Arc) after the Kyoto Arc. So to know the ending you have to read the manga first, which is pretty stupid since they never ended the main story in the anime. So yeah pretty whack
And the cast still remains with Kenshin, Kaoru, etc. as the main cast, though Yahiko is given more of a supporting role. But there will be a new addition to the cast from a spin-off, which will have a rather major role, but still not as important as Kenshin's I think.
This is the spin-off:
Rurouni Kenshin Side Story The ExCon Ashitaro
The anime's twitter claims to be an anime project from the original manga. The only mention of Hokkaido is that it is Watsuki's current project. There is no confirmation if it is a sequel or a remake. There are only guesses, nothing should be considered a confirmation yet.

If you have watched the live action movie series of this too, can you tell me whether this series cover up the main story of the original manga/anime or not? Because i have never tried the manga/anime.
nope not at all, it's really only an adaption of the sequel of the main manga and its story
man please, don't spread misinformation. There is no confirmation or news source that this anime will be a sequel. Even if in the future it is confirmed as one, saying now that it really is, is just misinformation
i also believe it will be a sequel, but to tell others that it will be while there is no confirmation is nonsense
Gonna be made by the same studio that animated 2016 berserk. Not excited
Berserk is not an example for this. Tetsuro Satomi wanted the Berserk anime to be in 3D, even though other producers warned that it would be difficult. The studio and the staff did what was requested, nothing could be done about it unfortunately. If Rurouni gets a good direction with a good staff, plus a good production schedule, we will have something decent
@hiroreis it was animated by Milipense and GEMBA while Lidenflims was one of the producers and wasn't involved with its animation production and Berserk's issue that Milipense as an anime studio was small size wise to handle it especially with the tight schedule.
So it looks like, from the trailer, it'll be a full reboot... I am done... I hate reboots... they never EVER do justice to originals.
The only reboot that has slapped the original one has to be Space Battleship Yamato 2199...
EDIT: Hunter x Hunter (2011) too was perfectly adapted compared to the og.
