AniList is looking to recruit talented new data moderators to join the existing team.
An AniList data moderator is responsible for:
This is a serious time commitment, but is very rewarding!
Please only apply if you are prepared to invest at least a few hours per week.
Applicants must be 18 or older.
For anybody that isn't of the minimum age or doesn't feel up to applying - don't worry about it.
Data mods pretty much use the exact same toolset as regular users, the only difference is that they can approve entries to go live.
If you've never used the submission system before (and yes. it is a bit wonky after the summer website update) give it a try, or check out the new system when it goes live - you can always apply next time, or maybe come through in-between.
The upcoming system will link parts of the current system much closer together, making it even easier for regular users to fully create and populate new entries without having to wait around on different bits being accepted here and there.
There isn't a firm limit on the amount of users that'll be accepted.
Thought I'd offer some words based on my experience of doing this for 5 years and what this position entails. I'll be blunt and say that it's not always going to be a picnic and submissions won't be clear cut 100% of the time. We pride ourselves in having an expansive database that has different entries ranging from manhwa, web novels, to music videos and commercials and these entries won't always be the easiest to deal with. It's a data mod's responsibility to be able to help out with these entries depending on your position to help make Anilist what it is today.
This isn't meant to deter anyone and it's important to know that you'll be working with mods/data mods who are always willing to lend a hand whenever you have questions or need help. It doesn't matter if you've new or have been on the team for a few years, we always have each others back and the experience is incredibly rewarding. If you're interested but not confident in your ability of doing this I'd recommend applying regardless as we're all patient people who will do our best to assist you.
Best of luck to everyone who applies! Show us the best applications you've got and I look forward to working with any new data mods.
