what is the difference?

Why is something like Tomo-chan is a Girl! considered 900+ chapters, but Azumanga Daioh is only 70? They are both basically the same format from what I’ve read. Any input is appreciated

  It's not mid but it's extremely stale. One of the first extremely commercial shows followed by Demon Slayer and Spy x Family.

In case anybody reading this is curious and doesn't just want to look at two-year-old exchanges, it's because of the way they were released. One was published as single comic strips, the other wasn't. They're technically both 4komas, but they were published differently.
