What did you think of the episode?
this felt a lot shorter than I would've liked :( Had great moments, but it didn't flow as good as Ep 8. Yuichi Tero and the digital department went crazy as hell in this episode regardless, even if the animation is a bit lacking the effects make up for it. I loved that moment when all three of them worked together (that one cut where they were all animated at the same time was pretty insane too)
Those moments with Tengen and his wives; was that a death flag? Should have seen it coming.
Anyways, liked this episode even more than the last one, especially our trio dodging those belts together.
Inosuke truly shined this episode; glad they gave him the spotlight as well. But that stab in the chest tho; LEFT side, btw.
Things seem to have gone to hell for our gang with Tengen down. NOW, I am truly looking forward to the next episode.
Flashy episode with a bit of a bleak end - 5/5
I am not gonna lie guys, I started crying at the end. Now this is taking rollercoaster emotions to a new level. I was so excited and breathless when they were all in sync fighting, and we saw their breathing techniques flash on the screen together. It made me so happy, I was hopeful. And then the ending? They all fell one after another so quickly, I think the shock of it all really got to me. First time I actually cry while watching KnY (mostly got teary eyed before). The OST switching to Tanjiro's theme on the piano as he was apologizing to everyone..that triggered the tears even more. And the post credit scene where's he's all alone...
I know I usually leave a long review, so I'll be back in a bit.
Edit:
The pre-OP scene felt like the cliffhanger all over again lol. Torturous. It took ~6 minutes (glanced at the timestamp), after the OP and the flashback, before we finally got somewhere and it was only for Gyutaro to regenerate his legs in about one second?? Idk why, I found that so amusing. BUT the blood art thing he did was a very nice twist. I gasped out loud when Uzui kicked Tanjiro and pulled that move. To be fair, I was gasping out loud throughout the entire episode. I remember thinking we haven't seen enough of Uzui's sound breathing, so that move was a treat.
I didn't even have time to pick up my jaw because I was gasping again at Gyutaro appearing outa no where and grabbing Hinatsuru. That was freaky as hell. It must've been torture for Uzui who lost his family to see his wife in that situation and not be able to reach her side. Up until that point, I felt that the flashbacks were distracting from the battle. But after that I realized they were kind of like a tribute to Hinatsuru since it was centered around her somewhat (another pointed out the flashbacks were death flags and I think that makes sense too after that ending).
TANJIRO CAME THROUGH THOUGH. Combining water and fire breathing was soooo beautiful and unpredictable. I love that the author emphasized the more tactical aspect of battle through Tanjiro's epiphany, as well as his training from Urokodaki. Even Gyutaro was impressed. Uzui calling out Tanjiro's full name to express his gratitude was very touching! And Gyutaro twisting his head was freaky as hell.
Inosuke's choking and freaking out while Zenitsu took charge and was quick to read the situation was such a delight to watch. I loved when Inosuke asked Zenitsu what's wrong because he was so shocked at the change lol. This pair made me laugh. Both of their voice actors did such a great job.
LOVED it when the battle intersected and the squad started fighting together. I got all misty eyed when Inosuke charged while Zenitsu and Tanjiro defended him, a testament to their hard work and trust in one another! This was what I was waiting to see from Inosuke, the way he hacked at her head was savage. Exactly like a beast.
Then it all crashed. That's cruel, to see them bonding in battle, raising our hope, and then striking them down in an instant. I thought the title was like the typical anime title were they semi-spoil what's going to happen, you know? So I came in expecting those two freaks to meet their demise..but nope.
Miracle, where art thou??
I can't believe this, we lost another pillar to an upper moon. At this rate the demon slaying corps are gonna lose to the demons. Doesn't Tanjiro beat himself up too much? I mean I think he did a splendid job fighting against the demons yet he still feels like he's the one to blame and now it's time to wait till next Sunday again T_T

These scenes made me sad. I'm hoping ufotable doesn't kill off poor Uzui. He is my favorite character.
I feel like we need to know more about Him and his backstory.

I love these scenes
I hope to see more of this cliffhanger in the next episode. Can't wait!
Just hope they don't kill off my Second Favorite Hashira like they killed Rengoku off.
