Didn't the first season end on an anime-original note? Been a long time since I last watched it but if it did, I wonder how they'd work around that original ending.
I think it ended in a karaoke filler episode which was a special chapter in the manga

No, it did not end on an anime original note. It ended when the guy pretending to be Masamune came to Aki which is in the manga as I finished the manga, so no it is not an anime original note but a cliffhanger.
